This hits unbelievably hard. I'm currently in recovery. Dealed with depression for years from all the classic things: feeling lost, never got that praise from parents, bla bla bla. My counselor now will say the littlest things like when I tell him I can go out where people are drinking and just say no he says he's proud of me but i can feel he really means it and it's a fucking game changer man. God bless people like Jordan Peterson and these mental health workers who help those of us who scraped the bottom of the barrel for too long

Cried when my manager told me that I've been doing great at the job. It's a 40k a year job. Barely minimum wage. Yet I cried when a stranger who I've known for 4 months told me that I was doing well at something. It's made me realize that my parents, as much as they tried their best, did not give me enough encouragement growing up.

This hits so deeply, I've never ever have any sincere encouragement nor compliments from my family...Or i should Say I Always got them for things that are meaningless to me. And things that counts deeply for me stay unnoticed, it IS devastating... Encouragement is RARER than GOLD nowadays! However, for the opportunity to knock you they will wait on a long line!!
I use to give people an OUT by pretending that they were just naive about the power contained in encouragement! But as the years have passed, I’ve realized that I was the NAIVE ONE. The reality is that on a conscious or subconscious level most people harbor ILL WILL towards others that may surpass them in some way!
I think Jesus summed it up concisely when he said;
“NO MAN IS GOOD”...Mark 10:18

I know it’s normal to hear from a wife encouragement but every damn time my wife tells me an encouragement, I cry or almost cry because I’m not used to anyone encouraging me. I usually hear the opposite but for the first time in so many years, I didn’t have to push myself to be better so I can get approval from the people I want to hear it from but rather push myself to be better because I genuinely want to be better.

The 'weeping' in the title was unnecessary. I found this video because I wanted to hear him again saying that people need so little encouragement. I don't watch 'Destroyed, Pwned videos. It cheapens the content.
