After watching your channel for 2 years, I was inspired to ride and never was interested in motorcycles before, but the freedom of riding seemed so cathartic. I took the MSF this year, got my license, and saved up for my first cycle. Never felt better in my life. It's a Kawasaki Versys X-300. I know your opinion on ADV bikes lol but I feel like it was the perfect starter bike and it was under $4000 with enough power to have fun with a ninja engine inside, some beginner trail riding, and easy to handle with a very light weight for a ADV bike, also a perfect commuter and highway capable. A jack of all trades, master of none.

Here are my picks in no particular order. I these are used mostly. But are often found in good running condition for fairly cheap.

1. Honda VFR 750/800 (1998 - 2007)
2. Kawasaki Vulcan S (2014 - 2016)
3. Kawasaki Concours C10/C14(2005 - 2012) The design of the C14 has been relatively unchanged since 2010. Lots of C10s still roll and can be had for around $2000 - 2500
4. Honda ST1100
5. Honda Magna(Gen 1, 2 and 3)
6. Yamaha Vstar 650
7. Suzuki GSX(R) 650(2004 - 2010)
8. Yamaha VMAX (Gen 1)
9. Honda Shadow 750
10. Honda CBR954 RR (Stock of course!!)
11. Yamaha FJR 1300 (2001-2005)
12. Honda Goldwing GL1500
13. Honda CB750/Nighthawk

These are bike I have owned or ridden a lot. Also, these are the bike I mostly find in good ride-able condition. I have had others like a BMW K1100LT or a GSXR750, Z650s etc... but I had to do LOTS of work on them to get them running. There are just some bikes that people ride/modify to oblivion like old Harley Davidson and old Kawasaki Ninjas (Z) models (Had my share of these!!!!).

I bought a 2006 BMW F650 GS w/ 19, 000 miles for $3000 last year. 21K on it now, great dual sport. A little heavy for serious off road riding, especially at my age, plus I just recovered from cancer. But great for mild trails.

Never knew that a brand new Ninja was so affordable. Might have to look into one. Keep up the great vids CC

CycleCruza, you crack me up man! I love your SM Yamaha. I can’t buy anymore bikes. I got a 2007 DRZ400S, a 2004 VTX1300C, a 2014 VStrom 1000 and a 1980 CB125S. But my second son wanted a bike so this summer I found a 2017 Ninja 650 and he bought it! What a beautiful bike. It’s his first bike and he rides it very carefully. He watched this vid over my shoulder and got a kick that you mentioned his bike. Keep it up man, always love your vids and wheelies! BTW, there ain’t no used DRZ’s out there for 5k now unless they are real old and beat. They are a real hot bike now.

I should add a Kawasaki Z400 is almost $1000 less than the Ninja . Great "beginner " bike.

I bought me a stock blue 2014 honda cbr650f a couple years ago for $4000 with 5800 miles on it, the owner wanted to sell it quick for a cruiser. No scratches on the plastics but the banana seat was faded for being outside but I ended replacing it with a 2 piece seat instead and made it look way sexier. I still enjoy her and planning to keep her for years to come.

Your so right dude. CBR 500R fantastic street bike. I have a 2018 with 58000 miles with zero issues. I run Dunlop Q3+ tires with 15 weight fork oil. Sometimes in life less is more. Thanks for your awesome videos

Here in California expect to pay 1-2k more for used bikes. Especially dual sport motorcycles and dirt bikes because everyone here in Temecula/IE is into that so demand is nuts

The Rebels have their weight down low too. I was at a motorcycle show last month and I stood upright the 1100 and it felt like nothing compared to other cruisers of similar weight and displacement, especially for a small guy like me at under 110 lbs. And that’s the 1100, just imagine how much more lightweight the 300 or the 500 will feel…

Been riding for a year now, for the most part every day. Living in NYC parking is at a premium. My current and 1st bike is a 2014 Honda CB500F. Absolutely love this bike. Perfect beginner and do it all motorcycle for city commuting and the weekend rides up to bear mountain. Was all in at a local dealership for just under $4500

I remember watching you Cycle Cruza 10 - 8 years ago HEAVILY! I almost came close to buying a NEW bike in 2018 (Moto Dealership was 1st) but I needed a car to carry things so I got a car.

But now… YEARS LATER! Here I am on YouTube watching bike’s again and gathering information about the best decision for me.

Man it is so good to see you still doing YouTube from WAAY back when you had the Honda CBR’s I remember you having! The 🟡one, the ⚪ one, and the 🔴 one.

Thank You Cycle Cruza for your knowledge and wisdom over ALL THESE YEARS (10 years) in riding your channel has helped me alot into making the right decision for me.

They're bringing the 2022 Honda Navi hear to the states. Now I know it's not what you normally go for. But I would love to hear you vlog about it. I'm thinking about getting one. It's more my speed. Idk. Let us know CC.
