I love my ‘05 1800R2... I added hard bags, a Vance Hines exhaust, a batwing fairing with speakers. 70, 000 miles and still runs like new. Can’t go wrong

Before I bought my V-star 1300 the biggest bike I ever rode for more then a test ride was my 750. Yeah I took a couple 1100's out for test rides but they didn't impress me. I got on my 1300 and have to say I fell in love with it. For me it's just the perfect size and I'm 6' tall and weigh 225 lbs. After adding a hyper charger and power commander I haven't had any complaints about the low end torque or the top end. Adding those aftermarket parts gave me a top end of 125+ and all sorts of torque at the low end.

I have a 05 1800 retro and love it. Fun thing I ride with several harley owners with way newer bikes and they will break every so often while mine still going like nothing

my vtx 1800 was a beast with a tuner and a new v&h exhaust, I seemed to hit the rev limiter through the 1st 4 gears every time I rode it good times

05 VTX 1300 here. Love it. Just hate messing with the choke in cold morning because it takes a while to warm up. I’m thinking on getting a ST1300. Don’t know yet.

It is funny how a 1300cc bike became "smallish" these days. Heck, my old 1340 EVO Harley was (I still have it) only beaten in size by the 1500 Vulcan, 1500 Goldwing and the 1400 Suzuki (mid 1990s). Now, all of those bikes are "Mid-size." Great size bike!
