My tip for new players: get out while you can. Once the addiction settles in, it will get you in a chokehold. 😭

It might not be as relevant for players who are new, but its worth keeping in mind imo:
Dont be afraid to take breaks. Yes, you'll waste resin. You'll miss dailies. You might miss events.

But Genshin is a game you play for fun. That resin and those primos are there to get things that increase your fun and interaction with the game. If it becomes a chore, if playing the game brings you dread because its become a job just keeping up your time gated stuff, then that time gated stuff isn't really worth getting. You aren't enjoying the rewards anymore.

If you are burned out or want to do something else for a bit, do so. Genshin will still be there when you come back, there will still be resin to spend, still be primos to earn, and there will still be events to play. Hell, maybe an event sounds fun and you come back during a break to play it. But you don't need to feel compelled to spend an hour or more on the other stuff too just because you are already there.

Of course this doesn't always apply, maybe you are lightly burnt out but still enjoy doing your daily stuff. Thats great and honestly where im at currently, i enjoy the game but an hour or two on daily stuff and weekly stuff is enough to satiate me. Eventually I'll get more into it again, and thats fine.

I mention just because with this type of game, its easy to develop fear of missing out. Thats a major way to get players to spend money. So just remember, its a game, not a job. Play when its fun for you to do so, take breaks when playing becomes a chore.

Also:
-Don’t ignore or throw away your 3 star weapons.
You can use copies of weapons to refine them and make their passives stronger
-When building artifact sets, just remember that your priority should be stats, not sets. They give you more buffs.
That being said, farm for artifact sets that work well on everyone (at least when you’re low ar-ish). Didn’t like the def% goblet you got when farming for Bennett? Give it to Yun Jin!
-Understand how talents work and what they scale of. It’s pointless to give a character a bunch of attack points if they scale off of hp.
-Im gonna clear this up:
Elemental Mastery means you do more damage with reactions. It’s actually not useless unless you have like, a mono Geo team or something
-you probably heard this a lot before, but PLEASE don’t invest into every character. You don’t need to find a main for life at AR13 or something, but you don’t need to spend so much time ascending your Kaeya if you’re not going to use him.
-Use mora wisely. You get a crap ton at the beginning of the game but as soon as you’ll start leveling up it’s going to run out _fast._ This is because you’ll gain better characters overtime and leveling up more characters, weapons, artifacts, and more.
-For the sake of your sanity (and your primos) DON’T PULL ON THE LIMITED BANNER FOR A FOUR STAR UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY WANT THE FIVE STAR IT FEATURES. _Especially_ if you have a guarantee. I made that mistake with Faruzan and now I have a sad, unbuilt, and unloved Wanderer (and no Faruzan). Don’t build pity by wishing on banners you don’t want either. Just save your primos until the next banner comes.

The lastpoint is very valid I remember when I felt like a bad player when I was not able to do damage or complete quests and feeling forced to play even when I didn't want to I still can't do much damage but I am trying my very best and it is vital for you to realise that

I used to spend all my primos on the standard but then someone told me that it was a bad idea and their words changes my life.

Part of the reason why I stopped playing for 5 months. Now, while everyone else is stuck doing nothing or just farming for artifacts, I’m over here barely discovering Sumeru and the desert 🤣

It also took me months to name the wanderer, literally did it 3 days ago. The only reason I actually did the quest was because I wanted to play the new archon quest when it came out💀

My tip for new players: don't play that much everyday cause when I played about 2 hours everyday I got depressed and bullied and my ocd got worse so I got therapy so yeah you don't need to play every day and don't play for so long maybe 1 and a half hour a day some days I played like 6-8 hours

As a new f2p, pulling Tighnari for my first 5 star on the standard banner had me feeling so lucky.
