This works like a charm. For those who have more messages, you might have to wait a little at the Preparing..0%. For me it was 1.8gb of data and it took 27mins to go from Preparing..0% to Preparing..1% and then after a while (6-7 mins) it directly went to you’re almost done.
So people who have more messages, could possible delete unimportant messages in their old phone, do a backup and then transfer to iOS.

Important thing is NOT TO TURN OFF your Android BEFORE you have activated WhatsApp on iPhone.

Because once the general transfer on Android is finished you could easily think it is all over. But it is NOT! Android needs to stay ON and close so that WhatsApp from iPhone can transfer completely.

Otherwise you have to reset iPhone again, and wait another couple of hours, to give it another try;) ;) ;)

What about the apps and data that were there initially on iPhone? You erased all that when you did factory reset. Is it possible to have them back too?

It worked finally, after many failed attempts. For me the solution was restarting the android device. I had an error where it was preparing the backup for whatsapp for hours and after it got to 4% it showed an error that the transfer was cancelled and I had to restart the whole process. Hope this is helpful for someone else

It worked!! But you have to be patient. The first two times i tried i gave up because it was stuck on 0% preparing but then i saw many videos and read many comments and decided to give it a final try. I deleted some of the unnecessary stuff and tried it and to my surprise in about 12-13 mins it went from 0% preparing to almost done and then everything happened as shown in the video. Note- 1. Your android device version should be 10 or above( just an observation from different comments) 2. Even if the second process shows 2 mins it will take longer than that so don’t give up.

It works but took several hours.
1) If you've used your Iphone for awhile already and you have to factor reset your iPhone, make sure to backup your data (pictures, contacts, notes, files, etc.) to iCloud drive.
2) I suggest purchasing the 200 gb iCloud storage for a month just to save all your data. You can cancel the storage subscription anytime. Worth the sacrifice.
3) I had difficulties with preparing the Whatsapp data for transfer. I got unknown error 10x. I almost gave up. But I realized I had to sacrifice some media data in Whatsapp in the android. So, I deleted some videos from the Whatsapp storage. I tried transferring again and it took 5 mins to finish.
4) Afterwards, input the old Apple ID again and you get all your data back. You just gotta re-install the Messenger, Viber, FB, Instagram, etc. again.

This definitely works. Back up your whatsapp chats before you do it though, to make sure you miss nothing.

It took about 5 hours to successfully transfer 3.6GB from an android to iPhone 13 pro max. After trying for two days without any result. It finally worked as I continued to try it.
It got to 1 minute of estimated transfer time and stopped transferring. got to 39 minutes and stopped. But finally worked...I'm so happy
