This video was a lifesaver. Was having so many problems transferring WhatsApp to new phone but after seeing your video I finally realised what the solution was. I hadn’t realised my old phone would get a verification code with a SIM. And I was getting complete confused because the new phone kept saying back up not found despite the backup showing on Drive. WhatsApp tech support were no help. Wouldn’t even let me send a direct message. Can’t thank you enough for this lifesaver demonstration. God bless.

its very important to say that you must complete the backup of the old phone before attempting to initiate whatsapp on the new phone. otherwise the backup stops and the new phone only gets part of the old phone and then you start a ping pong between the two trying to start over. a real mess!

Oh my god this was a complete saver. I thought I had lost ALL my messages I had so many important files and contacts and you completely saved me. If there was any way I could send you a pint of beer or the price of a beer please let me know. Brilliant video thank you!

No backups showing up on the new phone. Chat transfer also cancels with an error everytime after a couple of minutes. Frustrating.

For those who can't find the option to restore chat after they have already logged in, log back into the old phone, delete whatsapp on the new phone, install it again on the new phone and try logging in on the new phone, but this time around make sure to press 'restore' while setting it up because whatsapp might not let you restore it once you have set it up.

You are a life saver pal. Every other video and web article offered a different process and that process didn't work. Yours did however, thank god, thought I'd lost my chats, thank you!

Thank you for posting this video. I followed your instructions and worked great from a Motorola g9 to Motorola g54. The only step that was different was the old moto g9 didn't need to send a verification code. With the moto g54 Whatsapp did a phone call verification. I just watched and followed Whatsapp install instructions. Just a FYI it took approximately 35mins to back up 3.87gb of Whatsapp data & videos. And approximately 1hr to restore 5gb of data & videos on the moto g54. I don't know why the restore was 5gb instead of the backup 3.87gb.
Once again thank you so much for posting a great step by step instruction video, it is greatly appreciated👍😄

This is THE best video online dealing with this very subject/problem. No flattery, just a fact!

If you could figure out (even as a complicated walk-around) and make a video about how to merge backups or data bases from different phones, it would be a fantastic thing, and would bring you many views and some money, because nobody seems to know how to do that in a relatively easy easy, without being a pro.

I mean the scenario:
You use one phone during long time. Then you take out the SIM with the same phone number and everything, put it into an other phone and start using it without transferring the chats and media from the first phone. So now a new set of database fikes is being created.

You realise then you want to have all the chat history, with the pictures and videos together with the new ones in the new phone, merged date and content wise, but there no official way to do that.

This is worked for me thank you so much for the tutorial!!

Note: Before backing up all my media things in whatsapp including the chat, I log in the same email I used to back up my media in whatsapp previously in my new phone. I also don't remove the sim card to my new phone when i want to back up my media, but it is still working.

Clear and concise, very well done sir. Only issue I have is at 4:48, where is the restore button ?, it seems it automatically goes into restore if your battery is full, so you have no option to say no, also what is the min battery level for this to be able to work. Second thoughts from 4:48 i'm totally confused.
