Yo what about USB flash storage (thumb drives)? The option to offline those seems to be missing in Windows' disk management.

Very good. Except when I did this, the VM wouldn't start again because I removed the USB Flash Drive. So I had to "Remove" the Hard Disk from Hyper V settings.

Will this work for non mass-storage-device type usb devices? For example, I have a usb printer that only works under windows XP.. could I create a XP virtual machine (preferably OracleBox) that can talk directly to the printer, even though the host Windows 10 machine will show it as not having a driver error for it?

DOES NOT WORK...your video thumbnail shows a USB Flash drive as the source, but in your video you only used a mass storage usb device. IT DOES NOT WORK THE SAME! Actually, it does not work at all with USB Flash storage device!

I have a VM in hyper V, I am trying to use the "setup my school pc" from microsoft store. I installed and run the app to my usb, but it is supposed to be run from the vm while the vm is in the setup phase, but how do I get my vm to register the usb from the initial setup, I am only in the language phase, but it is suppose to be run from there. :)
