Abstract Algebra 54: Ways to tell that two groups are not isomorphic

Abstract: We survey only some of the various ways that you can tell that two groups are not isomorphic. We conclude by giving an example of three different groups of size twelve, namely Z/12Z, and the dihedral group encoding the 12 symmetries of a regular hexagon, and the alternating group A_4. Though all three of these groups have size twelve, we briefly explain how to see no two of them are isomorphic to each other.
