Yea, I think getting a SSD is the better choice.

In all honesty you should probably invest in 16gb before the prices shoot up even higher than they are.

Ram is not really made for more fps, but it could decrease input lag/stutter.

This video is really helpful. I have 12 GB on my PC as we speak and i was thinking about adding the extra 4 GB in the future but now that i see that having that extra 8 GB on a Pc does not effect your gaming too much, i'll definitely be saving my money for another upgrade. Thanks!

Well, you only tested games that were recommending only 6 or 8gb. Try Dishonored 2, Forza Horizon 3, Quantum Break etc..

Main issue I see,
"With the extra $ 50, buy a better case, water cooling, or an SSD"
Why not spend that on a better Graphics Card?
Sometimes going up 1 tier only requires $50-$70, which will increase performance a lot!
Also SSD's should be standard in a build these days, a cheaper SATA 128GB SSD or even 64GB should not even be a question, but if anything this is easier to install later then just getting a new graphics card.

that moment when i have 8GB of ram and most games stutter because it runs out of memory and has to pull it from the HDD you need 16GB if you are running a HDD

My build is:
AMD FX 8320( OverClocked to 3.8Ghz)
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P Motherboard
Kingston Hyper X Fury RAM(2x4) 8GB 1866Mhz
Evga GTX 1080 SC GPU(8GB)
1TB HDD
250GB SDD
Corsair CX750M 750 Watts
Thermaltake riing 120mm Case Fans(x5)I get around 90-130 fps on Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and a bit higher on Titanfall. I built my pc last year and ended up upgrading most all of it just within the past 2 weeks. My original build included a Gigabyte GTX 960 with 4GB, 2 stock fans, and a 430 Watt PSU. So far the difference after upgrading is tremendously better.

Hey nice vids man legit downloaded most of ur content n watch on the go 😁😁 what would you recommend a 1 strip 8gb or 2x 4gb, i currently am rebuilding a hp elitedesk g1 sff that came with a 1 x 4gb nowadays i find packs of 4 x 4gb ddr3 not over priced as 2x8gb atm are going for about 90$. Thanks again for the great content 😊😊

loved the vid and just subbed! how has the 980 treated you thus far? i have a gigabyte GTX 950 windforce g1 extreme edition card but im eyeballing upgrading either to a 1050TI 4gb (likely choice) or a 1060 6gb (less likely choice due to the whole bitcoin market crash going on) I often times see the 1060 being compared to the 980 rendering me curious. let me know! thanks!

Are you using an HDD or an SSD? If you are using an SSD that could be the reason why the framerates are so similar. If I were to use an SSHD, would I get that speed advantage of an SSD from lack of RAM, or disadvantage of the HDD?

I had 1x8GB Hyper @ 2400mhz. Even games from 2015-2016 eat memory. On medium and low settings there is no problem. But on high/ultra settings i was out of memory and i had FPS drops. Now with 2x8 works fine. I think that 2x8 kit is minimum for High/Ultra gameplay. Sry for my english :)
