If you are constantly feeling the symptoms she describes (plus even worse) this could easily be vestibular migraine in a CHRONIC form. When vestibular migraine presents in a chronic form, where you are having attacks so frequently the symptoms never calm down, you will feel dizzy, blurred vision, “off, ” light/sound sensitivity, derealization like you are in a dream like state, tinnitus, headache and many others. The difference in you feel these symptoms wax and wane constantly - this means chronic vestibular migraine pattern and not episodic as she is primarily referring to here. The treatment though is similar I just wanted to share this in case someone watching this thinks “oh my dizziness or condition is much worse than 20 mins of vertigo, it must not be vestibular migraine.” If you have ruled out BPPV and have a history of vertigo episodes with other features it is most likely vestibular migraine. Find a doctor that really knows about it as many do not.

Sometimes it wipes me out for a day. I get so exhausted when recovering from one of these migraines sometimes I go to sleep with the headache because I can't stand the pain anymore and wake up with just the pain and dizziness the next day. It isn't all the time but the best way I can describe it is like being drunk.

I dropped out of a world top 20 university because of this. For over two years, doctors insisted that my vertigo was stress-related because of the intense nature of my studies. I had my doubts, but I still went through psychiatry and psychotherapy because I thought they knew best. Now that my maximum candidature period has passed, I am finally diagnosed with vestibular migraine because I started having tinnitus together with the vertigo even while being stress-free at home. 😭

I had undiagnosed vestibular migraine throughout much of my early childhood and fell into a deep state of anxiety because of it. I would have dizziness for upward of 24 hours and it was incredibly debilitating. I was prescribed amitryptaline around 6 years ago and haven’t had an episode since - an absolute life changer. If anyone is suffering from this disorder, I would highly recommend!

Great video. I have headaches that last all day everyday and constantly dizziness. I spend most of my time laying down and can only manage to get up and move around for short periods. After a trip out to the Dr I'm usually exhaustion followed by what seems like a 24hr migraine.

I have vestibular migraine but also 24/7 mid level vertigo and imbalance. My migraines are caused by visual movement, so I can’t avoid my triggers. I also have all the symptoms of vestibular and proprioception processing disorder. After speaking to other migraine sufferers with processing disorders, I believe I had a severe migraine from stress that made the processing disorder symptoms worse. I also now have myoclonic epilepsy, also triggered by visual stimulation.

I just recently got diagnosed with this migraine and I would say its less of a spinning/vertigo feeling and more of a light headedness. I had an "almost fainting" moment twice while driving 2 days in a row and that's when I decided to get a check up. It was tunnel vision, light headedness and nausea, it lasted a few seconds but then the drunk feeling lasted for a few days, like I'm not in my body and living in autopilot. I have a history of migraines but not often only when I'm stressed or lacking in sleep. The vestibular migraine began because I was over working myself, lack of sleep, and excessive drinking all in one. I believe this was the trigger, now whenever I go on a drinking binge, I have to expect the next day will be migraine filled. I cannot tell the difference between my hangover and the migraine symptoms, its odd. I checked in ear, cardio and neuro drs and the neuro dr diagnosed me. the headaches come and go but its mainly light headedness and nausea. Im a 21 year old and its been debilitating.

In the last year I’ve had 3 bad episodes of vestibular migraines. Just had one this weekend. Omg I was nausea and dizzy for 5 days. The last two days I couldn’t stand straight, one point I ask roommate to help me up the stairs. All this hassle I had to get through just to get the medication I wanted. I’ve been tested lots of times and mri it was fine but yet I still had to be tested at the hospital 😂. I just needed some medication to stop this vertigo. The headaches there’s nothing you can do but sleep.

I was diagnosed with this for nine years, but it turned out to be a spinal CSF leak also known as spontaneous intracranial hypotension.

I used to have vertigo, the room was spinning. But now just migraines that last for days and I am very light sensitive. I am 77 and pretty healthy otherwise. I take Immitrex, 100mcg sometimes just half works.

I get a lot of Ear pain, and suddenly feel disoriented a lot. Scary feeling actually. I get migraines every day. Is this related to Vestibular issues?

I am on day 8 of this and I'm terrified I'm never going to feel normal again. I feel like I've been on a rocking boat, the room warps and I see black dots. GPs haven't helped me with anything.

I have ocular migraines that last for about 25 minutes like the Doctor talks about in the video. I also have what I think are vestibular migraines with dizziness, nausea and vertigo. The vertigo only occurs at the peak of the episode and lasts one to two days of an about 4 day total.

I have vertigo and also get these blinding and sharp stabbing headaches right between my eyes and the middle of my forehead and the intensity of the pain will not go away unless I lay flat on my back for about twenty minutes. Lots of times as soon as I feel a little better laying down the pain will immediately start back up the moment I stand up

I have 3 main symptoms. Dizzyness, nausea and the classic migraine headache. I may only get one of these sympotms, a combination of two or all three. What appalled me was the suddenness of the attacks. I would be walking along and suddenly I'd be on the ground with my head spinning wildly or I'd instantly be nauseous for no reason. In my worst attack I was in bed for 3 days, unable to move or eat and the room had to be as dark as I could get it. I had some eye training to try and alleviate the problem but that had no effect. I still get bouts but they're much less severe now.
