Both are important especially when you start getting deep into cyber security.... i went back to a 54 day bootcamp for Software engineers after my second cyber security certification.

I prefer coding and building and protecting cuz it’s my software I will design cuz interest in web and mobile development plus learning new language programming and earning certifications that are worth to earn

You can be a zombie developing software, thinking you are good when you can code a tiny calculator, real software isn't a calculator.

Cyber security is fun, it can be easy to learn or easier to learn, and more importantly it's fun to learn.

The choice is up to you though, ethical hacking and defending devices from hackers sounds a lot more fun to me than being a zombie building software for days.
