As a software engineer for me the feeling of low impact comes from not being all that close to the customer. I worked in retail a lot so you always interact with the customer and it makes you want to give a better exp. I dont really see that as a low level software engineer. I just chew on code most days. But the job is super secure and all the coworkers are great if thats what your into.

I am currently working as a Cyber Seciurity and frankly I am thinking of changing my job to Software Engineering. In my company, when you're a Cyber Sec., you have a lot of different tasks, and the company when it wants to make 100% use of your time so that you don't get 'bored' it assigns tasks to do, even if its really little related to what you are gklowly familiar with. But from my previous experience at Software Eng. I had several projects to take care of and in my "free" time I could learn other things. For me that was much better.

Every interview for a cybersec role that I experienced had an entry level tech question as in a tier 1 (what is dmz, what is sql inj., what does a firewall/IDS/IPS function?

Then a higher tier cybersec set of questions (Cyber Kill chain, methods of data exfil, defense evasion methods, etc)

Then a final interview of behavioral questions.

I am on the path of software engineer (career switch), but this was a great video so I decided to sub. All I know about Cyber Security is Mr. Robot and php injections are bad lol. I’m doing Associate Degree in Cyber Security in my first year now in college, I can see that everything is fused in course am doing (Pentest, ComTia, Vulnerability, Malware among others) all in it) what benefits or challenges or any suggestions I could come across when I complete this and ready for the field of work ?

No experience at all, hairstylist trying to switch career here lol — is there any kind of course or boot camp I can do that has all the certs needed to get into cyber security with NO college, or experience? If there isn’t, what are the names of every cert I should buy to get a role in this industry?
