0 STARS in CRASH TEST for Renault DUSTER Made in LATIN AMERICA | Renault Contests This Result

The 2022-2023 Renault Duster, produced in Latin America and Romania, with double airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard, achieved zero stars under Latin NCAP’s latest crash test protocol.

The popular SUV achieved 29.47% in Adult Occupant box, 22.93% in Child Occupant box, 50.79% in Pedestrian Protection and Vulnerable Road Users box and 34.88% in Safety Assist box.

The New Duster for Latin America does not offer side body and side head protection airbags as standard like the model sold in Europe under Dacia brand. In the frontal impact the model showed unstable structure performance and a fuel leakage. Side impact test showed high intrusion of the B-pillar and an open door during the test. Door opening in Latin NCAP side impact test, which has same configuration as Regulation UN95, means that the car would have failed the UN95 test. The fuel leak recorded in the frontal crash test needs further action from Renault, not just to solve the problem in production but to recall all the units sold in the market that potentially have this problem in the fuel tank in a crash. In the same line the door opening in the side impact requires immediate action by Renault as it poses a serious risks of ejection in the case of side impacts.

What I can’t stand about these manufacturers is they talk big about how safe their cars are in developed countries but supply comparatively dangerous cars to ‘emerging markets’. As if to say those peoples lives are worth less.

This is weird because my friend had this car and two weeks ago, he had a terrible accident in which the car made a complete roll over. He had his wife and 3 little children with him in the car during the accident. They all got out safe and sound without a scratch.

Fun fact: In 2018, Renault Duster (assembled in Mioveni) got 4 stars in LatinNCAP. The same car (assembled in Brazil) got 0 stars because of some issues made by workers.

The fact that some people dislike this just shows how much of a brand loyalist you can be, the car would get 4 stars if it had the european standard-protective measures implemented, but in "emerging markets" its basically a rolling coffin, this shows how little does companies care for people's well being in favour of profit, instead of having a solid standard in quality and build across your entire production, your life is optional when you purchase the car in markets with less restrictions.. lesson learned

Yeah guys, and in here in Brazil the country of slaves this is a luxury car, because it costs at least 100.000 reais, and our minimum salary is 1100.
