FIX!!! Unable to Turn on HDR in Windows 11 Quick Fix

Windows 10 HDR Won’t Turn On

You can enable the HDR Stream option Windows 10 from the Display settings.

If HDR Stream fails to stay on, you can fix it by following the troubleshooting steps listed in the article below.

A faulty HDMI connection is the likely culprit for this issue.

Double-click the EnableHDRForPlayback entry. If you can’t find it, right-click on the blank portion, hover the cursor over New, select DWORD (32-bit Value), name it EnableHDRForPlayback, and then open it.

Created the registry key and DWORD. Set to 1. Restarted. Nothing. Looks like you might have changed the video name from Windows 10 to Windows 11 to get views but perhaps the solution doesn't work for 11.

Didn't work as well.
When I turned my computer back on, the HDR Settings were all back to off.

I was facing this issue with the "HDR video streaming" option. I just needed to remove the monitor from the "bluetooth and devices" menu and restart the PC. Windows 11 automatically re-entered the monitor in Device Manager and enabled the "HDR video streaming" option

I think this might be for Windows 10. In Windows 11 this isn't the location of the folder.

Hello..I am hoping you would be kind enough to possibly give me your advice about my issue..So I'm using Windows 11 with an LG Ultrawide 1440p 160hz with hdr my gpu is AMD Rx 6800 so I have Amd Adrenalin installed and did have my monitor set in hdr..I was experimenting with some display settings in the Adrenalin software and I believe is where my problem was attributed to..there is a custom resolution drop down setting and was only experimenting with and well after I made a profile I immediately was trying to delete it and that was a whole process in itself that I did finally figure out but when I went into Windows display settings the hdr was not supported and the auto hdr wasn't even available...so I even went into display properties and applied my previous hdr calibrated profile which did show in the settings but still no hdr option available...I watched maybe 10 YouTube videos before I found yours and you seemed to actually certainly know what you are doing with Windows and I trusted your solution and proceeded to try the reg edit...well to my surprise the hdrplayback value was set to the value of 1 in the registry...so that just really took the wind out of my sail...because I was certain I was going to see the value = 0....So I apologize for how long this comment is but I wanted to cover everything I previously and foolishly did to get myself into this situation...If there is anything you could possibly think of I would be forever grateful for your help...If you don't have time to I also totally understand...but thats my issue friend

The only way i were able to get auto HDR working was to calibrate HDR with Microsoft's HDR calibration APP. otherwise it never enabled.
