Let’s talk about the best remedy for an ulcer. Ultimately, you have to correct your diet to help heal and prevent an ulcer. To learn more about the diet you should be on, check out my other videos on Healthy Keto.

While you’re working on your diet, you can also try my really simple remedy for ulcers. An ulcer is essentially a hole in your stomach or small intestine.

Potential causes of an ulcer:
• Stress
• Nutritional deficiencies
• H. pylori
• NSAIDs

The most common medication for ulcers is Prilosec. This medication works by stopping the acid production in your stomach. While Prilosec can help people with ulcers, it comes with side effects.

Potential side effects of Prilosec:
• Vomiting
• Gas
• Nausea
• Headaches
• Abdominal pain
• Increased risk of dementia
• Increased risk of C. diff
• Increased risk of pneumonia
• Increased risk of bone fractures
• Increased risk of kidney inflammation
• Increased risk of polyps

Certain studies have found that cabbage may be beneficial for people with ulcers. Cabbage contains vitamin U, a term used to describe a group of sulfur compounds. This group of compounds can destroy H. pylori, one of the most common microbes involved with ulcers.

H. pylori is not typically pathogenic. But, when a person doesn’t have enough stomach acid, H. pylori can become pathogenic and lead to ulcers. I believe that ulcers are created by a lack of stomach acid, not an excess amount of acid.

Cabbage can potentially put H. pylori in remission or kill H. pylori. However, if you cook cabbage for too long, you will kill the beneficial compounds. It's best to consume raw cabbage, cabbage juice, steamed cabbage, or fermented cabbage for ulcers.

I drank cabbage juice 3 times a day for my ulcer and to my surprise, my symptoms disappeared. I also made sure to eat well and added broccoli sprouts, which I heard might also help. It’s a miracle!

In my experience Cabbage juice is good, but don't consume sauerkraut if u have ulcer because it's really acidic and will "burn" ur wound(ulcer) even more, that's why ACV is not recommended aswell if u have ulcer.

The beneficial sauerkraut is the variety that's kept refrigerated at the store since it hasn't been pasteurized so the beneficial bacteria cultures are still active. The sauerkraut you find on the shelf has been pasteurized and has, therefore, lost most of its benefits, including losing the sulfur compounds that kill the ulcer-causing bacteria as mentioned in this video, due to the heat used in the pasteurization process.

Dr. Berg. I watch your videos everyday & I never comment but I just have to this one time. I follow a keto & IF diet (most of the time). I have an ulcer. It used to be so bad that I would be uncomfortable with pain all the time. I try to eat one meal a day & I always eat a salad (amongst other things, protein etc…) The salad I eat is almost always a cabbage salad. Green cabbage & red cabbage. A while back I noticed my ulcer is nowhere near as painful as it used to be. In fact I would say it’s probably healed half way up. I thought it was attributed to the keto/IF/OMAD lifestyle. But now I’m started to think maybe it was the cabbage! So I’m trying to say. That this is true. Eating cabbage on a regular basis, organic cabbage, will in fact help heal an ulcer! (I’ve also lost heaps of weight & feel better)
👍☺️👌

Raw Organic Cabbage juice in the morning and evening empty stomach usually cures ulcers in 15 days. This is in practice for many years. Another way suggested by fasting experts(you can check on youtube) is water fasting for more than 72+ hours triggering stem cells and curing the ulcer permanently...

I reversed my ulcer by using slippery elm. I get it from the HF store, in bulk (sometimes only capsules are available) like making tea, into a mug of hot water (or broth) I scoop a heaping spoonful of the powdered herb & stir till disolved. Helpful for sore throats & IBS also. The slippery elm becomes a shield coating protecting the ulcer from constantly encountering more damage and this, in turn, allows time & room for the effected area to actually heal.

Btw fun fact history edition; Slippery elm had a hand in the union winning the US civil war- a battalion of union troops were surrounded by confederates who were blockading any supplies from reaching the trapped men. The union guys found an abundance of naturally growing slippery elm & lived off of it throughout the seige. After days of no movement, Confederates assumed everyone was starved dead or extremely weak, needless to say it was a trap & the confederates walked right into it.

True, I had h.pylori gastritis a couple of times over the years. Last year i had it again, went for 2 rounds of antibiotics, didnt feel better. That i went for fermented cabbage juice and all of the symptoms resolved in a couple of days it was like a miracle! Couple of weeks ago my stomach started hurting again and i had acid reflux. I made my fermented cabbage juice and in a day i felt 1000 times better. It is amazing!!!

Thank you.
Can you tell, how much in a day or week, will be normal to drink 1 cup of cabbage juice? When to drink? In the morning, before breakfast, or?

Thanks Dr Berg 😊 My favourite way of cooking cabbage is by adding it to omelette in my late breakfast or brunch. It's a light cooking, which I imagine doesn't destroy the vitamins in it.

Brilliant. I also had ulcers not the pylori type but drank cabbage juice and yes it did heal it. My doctor at the time was both irritated that I never took the Omeprazole, and very curious about how I healed my ulcers with cabbage juice...he made me smile....
