In this episode: I discuss the relatively recent emergent lore that suggests the return of both the Flood and the Precursors, and my own opinions on how that may adversely affect the inherent mystery upon which, the Halo Universe thrives.

Losing the mystery of the Forerunners was a shame, but you can't deny how incredible it was diving into the Forerunner Saga. Felt like treading on hallowed ground. If only I could read it again for the first time

I think adding a small amount of information regarding the Precursors might be ok if they don't go overboard like for example making an entire book dedicated to just Precursors but maybe something more like the terminals in Halo: CE-3 or even just a little nod here and there. Though I would vastly prefer more lore regarding Ancient Humanity and their overall effect on the galaxy at that time though not all at once like with the Forerunner Trilogy of book and more like seeing an ancient human appear or finding audio logs or something like that

They should go with Oni and Literally Nuke the multiplayer for a season. Apocalypse armors and more flood AI and such

Would it be a horrible idea? Yes.
Do i want it to happen anyway? Also yes.

A little off topic but i would love to see either a book, comic, short story or what have you nots on the ancient humans that fought the forerunners not covering the war but before that. Like what was life like for them and what mysteries did they have.

I am looking forward for 343 to make a short horror story about what happened to the Spartans containment team’s that were infected by the flood?

I think you accidentally mistook what they said like most other fans have.
I don't think they ever said they were ending the narrative for Multiplayer. They were just ending the cutscenes to explain it- that's why we're still getting in-universe messages building on the lore outside of just the multiplayer that explains where battlepass themes have come from basically. They do still build on the actual lore of the universe, they just aren't making cutscenes to explain the lore anymore.

Im gonna bet that the person that had that encounter with the precoursor actualy had an encounter with the flood, and it was being stealthily, and shes a stealth infection form.

Just discovered that there's a 4th book for the forerunner coming in february, Halo Eitaph, the story of the Urdidact after his defeat at the end of the Master chief ... can't wait *.*

Yes, the lore is already convoluted and having them return would just be a repeat of what happened to the Didact, the created, but this time to the banished. They should be at best a background element of the lore, not front and center.

Prions are the modern day flood spores... Genuinely scary stuff

Is it still a possibility that The Endless are the precursors? If so, they technically already have. I think if it is done well it won't ruin anything. There will still be a lot of ambiguity in the game and people not very in touch with the lore will still see it as mysterious if done right. Keep them in the shadows, pulling the strings of the flood.

Done with the FLOOD in story as well as games.
For future storylines, would be interested what is going to happen with the Banished, Forerunners, the Xalanyns and the NEW inhanced [from the Librarian] MC. Also...side story,
since DATA is never completely erased...it would be interesting to know if any remnants of the [original] Cortana is still around. If so, who &/or what would benefit from using her vast amounts of human and alien knowledge?

So I was under the impression the multiplayer was continuing the story from the survivors of the Infinity's perspective?

Also, I know people didn't love the books, but the Forerunner trilogy covered quite a bit of these mysteries...
Librarians voyage to another galaxy (Andromeda I think it was)
How 343 was an ancient human born on one of the Halo installations...
There were 2 Diadacts, Bornstellar Diadact and the OG Diadact we saw on the terminal videos for Halo 4..
OG Diadact having communed with the Precursor before going crazy evil...
And how humanity was intended to take on the mantle of Responsibility...

Maybe I remember this wrong or Mandela Effect going on...but didn't the Precursors create the flood as punishment for wiping them out and for devolving humanity?

I'm assuming the flood returning has to be something to do with that collection of organic "blueprints" that were showcased in that one level... ❤❤

Hey Installation 00 ive actually got my own theory with some of the flood. I remember during the outcast book (spoiler) that the precursors were planning to test Humanity for the mantle of responsibility, I do believe this new appearance of the flood will build up to that test where it is the Flood and then some, an evolved version of the flood, I mean if you look at tge Rusalka kit it's a combat form with what looks like Flood Chitin, not flood flesh & bone full blown chitin, there's even two infection forms in the poor guy, so basically I believe the flood is evolving now to use more chitin than flesh in order to challenge the UNSC & if the UNSC wins this coming flood war they would have earned tgeir right to the mantle.

Ngl, i would rather have the classic flood and/or the precursors than some completely new faction like the Endless, even if they themselves are possibly precursors or are connected to them.

Honestly aslong as the execution is done well and its handled with care i think that it could work. Imo halo could do with some cosmic horror esc stuff would go very hard

Would be nice to find out some more about the endless, maybe they are connected to the precursors in some way. Think for the most part precursors should be left alone as the mysterious entity who once ruled over the universe rather than reveal who they are and then have to replace them with someone else

Yea you hit it on the head, it's going to be very tough to navigate. To set something up that will have a continued consistent story but also give informational and establish the story while also keeping the mystery
