I always wondered, what the heck do these things eat? We know that the Ghost Leviathan filters microorganisms from the water, and that the void only supports microscopic and leviathan lifeforms. So what the heck do the void Chelicerates eat? Because something tells me those giant mandibles aren't meant to catch plankton.

In my opinion, besides my first encounter with the damn sea dragons, these guys are the most intimidating and scariest leviathans out of both games to me. I always felt that when I see one a second one is somewhere behind me. Totally was not expecting three of the bastards.
Every inch of their body just screams death and I would never fuck with them like you did in this video. You got some massive stones.

I remember accidentally stumbling into this void cliff area in my first seatruck and by some sort of miracle these guys didn't show up for ages even though I was in the void. I remember feeling so confused about what biome I was in and then I saw one of them in the distance. Scary shit. By then I was way too far out to drive back to safety so I just kept going not realising this was Below Zero's crater edge. Eventually they caught up and killed me.

Fun fact!
Their AI is made to circle you or your ship before attacking, allowing you to see them in the shadows of your head lights, or with a flashlight itself. Not to mention the noises they make.
After a very breif moment of then all circling, since you had been given their version of a “second chance” to turn back, they then swiftly begin their assault.

From what information i have gained from this behavior, it’s absolutely terrifying, but sometimes after on attacks, the others will “take turns” attacking. Luckily however, they have a timer for when they can attack again. I think its roughly 2-4 seconds. Meaning if you want to escape in time, you have to act, and FAST.
1-5 times you can escape if you go the right way. However… sometimes some can get mixed up from left to right. Deeper or farther you go, the worde your fate is sealed.

Imagine, they make an update that allows you to go far enough into the void that Ghost Leviathans start attacking you instead of Void Chelicerates.

You know why their eyes are yellow? Coz in complete darkness, you can only see those eyes approaching you unless you turn on the lights. That legits makes them scarier than adult ghost leviathans IMO.
