In the Seventies, a certain shark-movie prompted me to exchange saltwater for chlorinated.
Unless something comes flopping out of the shower-head, I oughta be okay.

Here in Brazil, this year, we have had so many attacks, 3 of them in only one week. Bull Sharks and Tiger Sharks .

Any artificial dock, reef, swim pontoon is a haven for bait fish, which attracts sharks. Don’t swim near piers, docks etc

I am proud to say, I respect what lives in the ocean, so I don't go in it.

I played rugby in Wellington but we played away in Townsville in Australia but got told not to go swimming as sharks had been seen. Luckily we heeded the advice because a tiger shark attacked a person a day later.

I lived in New Caledonia for 7 years and go back there every 2 years to visit my family. The beach where the guy got attacked: chateau royal, is where i used to swim all the time. I was actually jumping from the pontoon all the time (excuse my english, I am french)etc. It is crazy thinking how far I was swimming in new caledonia etc. I knew there were tiger sharks, bull sharks, even great white but attacks were so rare... we had quite a few this year unfortunately.

My question is WHY capture the sharks? Just stay out of the freaking water. The sharks live there and we know it. Kinda the equivalent of taking a nice stroll on the plains in Africa where lions are hanging out. Just a really bad idea.

Well, this doesn't sound like shark attacks being "very rare" to me.

Can Not Even Imagine Being in Ocean and Out of Nowhere Feeling Powerful Tugging on My Body and Fully Realizing What is Happening to Me...Too Surreal

My father owned a shrimp boat in the early ‘60s, shrimping in the Florida Gulf. He hated when bull sharks got in his nets: not only were bulls dangerous to “throw-off” the deck, they also tore his nets to pieces. One of the main reasons he finally sold his boat.

That campaign is ridiculous. People know the risk of going in the ocean and it should be treated as such!!!! A risk

Stay out of that area during the months that the sharks have more prevalent there… Actually stay out of that area period

His family should sue the administration ...how is chumming allowed at a place where tourists swim?

Two bullsharks? Sadly little to no chance to survive that. They are swimming way too far out, not worth the risk anywhere.

This is the third fatal attack I’ve heard of this month! Pretty obvious that this is intentional attacks and predation.
