No one is looking through that thin gap in the bathroom stall door. If they are then they’re either a pervert or child without manners. I’ve never had someone look at me in the stall and I don’t make any effort to look between the cracks at anyone else. It’s really not an issue here and most newer places don’t have gaps in the doors anymore. Besides we all know what you’re doing in there, there’s no curiosity that needs to be satisfied, no need to look, everyone’s in the bathroom for the same reason.

Lemonade stands are still fairly popular. I work as a mailman and come across kids with lemonade stands quite a few times every summer. I always stop, they usually ask 1 dollar for a cup but I give them 5.

As an American, I love our public bathrooms, esp with children. Kids often lock themselves inside.. but parents can get the kids to crawl out from the bottom. As a parent I always was afraid of my kids getting stuck. And let's not forget the plea for toilet paper from the stall next to you, so it's easy to pass a clump of toilet paper under to save the day. Some stall doors naturally close, so unless you see a body inside (and it's not really a clear view by the way) you have to check all the doors by pushing to see if they're occupied. Lolol.. pull the plug out? How about just turning off the light or machine?

Lemonade stands tend to be something a little kid does once or twice for fun, not like something they do consistently. If you're in a family friendly neighborhood, you might see 1 or 2 through the summer. They do still exist. But it's not like an every day thing.

Homemade lemonade stands run by kids are quite common during hot summer days.

Lemonade stands are still alive and well in the USA. Particularly, in small towns, I assume. Nothing like driving home from work on a hot day and seeing some super cute kids selling some lemonade with their homemade signs that they’ve made. Love it!

The US does doesn't have a federal sales tax. They are only a state and possibly additional city/locality thing and they vary between states. However, there are a lot of retailers that are nationwide... think Wal-Mart or McDonald's... and a lot of their advertisements apply as such. If prices were included in shelf prices then large chain retailers would potentially have to have a separate advertising campaign in every state/city. And that's a big reason sales taxes aren't included in the instore prices.

The sales tax thing is because sales tax varies from state to state.
Regarding US sports, the best kept secret here is minor league baseball, very family oriented, tickets are real cheap, so is the beer and hotdogs and there's often a fireworks display or concert after the game's finished = bargain!
Born British, proud American (Texan) by choice.
God Bless the USA

Have an ice maker in the fridge is not required. I grew up using ice cube trays that we filled with water and emptied when needed.

On sales tax, I think it's good that the tax is charged extra instead of being built into the sales price. This way we are constantly aware of how much our government extracts from our wallet. What I really dislike is that the sales tax is in addition to income tax. They tax both income and outgo.

Lemonade in America is never carbonated. We even make our own from scratch.

Plugs in the US automatically have built in switches that cut power just in case so its not a big deal anymore. they are well grounded already and are built for safety regulations.

I can tell you, those bathroom gaps have saved lives on many occasions. Had a coworker find a man who suffered a stroke, he only noticed it because of the gaps.
As for the taxes. It's any easy way to see how much money your state and county are trying to take from you.

Where I live (California), sales tax includes state tax, county tax and city tax. Currently totals 7.75%. But, remember, not everything is taxed.

The restroom stalls don't bother us, because people here don't try to peek on people. We just don't care! We're there to do our business, and that's what we do. We're not there to peek!

When he was talking about Americans tracing their ancestry back to the UK, at least here in the South many Southerners are descended from Scottish, and Northern Irish (or Scotch-Irish as they are known here). As well as people from the North of England and West England (such as Cornwall). Our accents make way more sense when I look at our origins lol 😂

As an American living in London currently i can confirm Lemonade is not the same here. This being said it is very easy to make its just water lemons sugar and ice. you can make it at home. Its an easy cheap refreshing drink that is easy to make so kids sometimes do actually set up lemonade stands (or at least they used to when i was younger) to make a little money to buy a toy or something like that. Its something that has become a thing to help teach children about money and earning it for themselves.

Love you guys keep it up! if you ever have questions about America Vs the UK from an American let me know!

Unspoken rule in the Public Toilets: DON'T look through the cracks unless you are looking for a loved one whose been in there too long! And a full glass of ice means that the ice will take longer to melt so your drink isn't watered down by the 3 melted cubes that the Europeans and Chinese put in. We (most people I know) turn off the appliance (whatever) but usually don't unplug. Remember we have different voltage here from other places.

Its funny when Millie mentioned, "We have a Walmart, It's ASDA". ASDA was actually a wholly owned subsidiary of Walmart until Oct of 2020, when the ISSA Brothers bought it. Walmart still has a Equity Interest in ASDA, as well as having a seat on the Board of Directors.

A lot of the 24 hour stores ended when covid came around. They said it was so the store would have time to disinfect before the next day. The walmarts in my town still has not gone back to 24 hours.

There are still small towns that “roll up the sidewalks” at 5pm sharp. Convenience stores are the only stores that are open 24/7.
