Vegan Breakfast Sausage Recipe - Gluten Free

Ingredients:
1 tsp Italian seasoning
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup mashed black beans
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup flaxmeal
1 tsp liquid smoke

Directions:
1. Add the TVP, Italian seasoning, salt, smoked paprika, pepper, and water to a bowl. Mix until well combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add the mixture to a blender or food processor and add in the mashed beans, syrup, flaxmeal, and liquid smoke. Blend until well combined but still a bit chunky.
3. Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil to medium/high heat. Form the mixture into a patties with your hand and place onto the heated pan. Cook for 3-5 minutes, flip, and cook another 3-5 minutes or until firm and browned.
4. Enjoy!

I added oats and buckwheat flour and used pea protein instead and actually changed the whole recipe bc I didnt have liquid smoke, added other things. Lol! Thank you for the inspiration to create my own recipe!!!

Tastes good, but way too much water. It was soupy in the processor. Had to drain it before cooking it. That said, about half to 3/4 amount of water would work. Still, it’s surprisingly similar to breakfast sausage taste, quite yummy!
