I can't imagine myself building a dedicated home theater, at least not a big one with multiple rows of stadium seating like in this video. The living room environment feels more intimate and inviting to me. As mouthwatering as JVC's top-tier projectors probably look, a 70-80" TV will be a better fit for me unless I get stinking rich out of nowhere.

It truly depends on space. Sitting seven to eight feet away from a 75" or 87" TV in a small room supplies plenty of immersion. The brilliance and clarity of a flat panel cannot be beat for the price. Add decent surround sound and you will have the theatrical experience.

You said it perfectly. Does the viewer want to watch a movie or experience a movie. I use a tv for tv and a projector for movies. Great videos as always Audio Advice!

Smart projectors like XGIMI are easy to set up and good for eye health, I'd definitely choose a projector over a TV.

Great summary, and I think the approach you've outlined will help people choose the right display for their individual situations. We have a 75" TV in our Family Room, for all the reasons you've indicated - bright picture, no worry about light in the room, etc. But in order to feel like I'm really 'going to the movies', we head into the Theater Room, where the immersiveness of a 160" 2.40:1 screen and front projector just can't be beat.

A bright projector is key. Most everything you see in the world is reflected light. Projectors are awesome.

Short Version: You want it quick and easy and have too much light in your room? Go TV
You truly love big Theater and are willing to go the extra mile. Go Projector.

Since i chose projector i wanna add some additional thoughts: If you still like 3D then DLP projectors are like the last displays sold that feature it. Some Projectors got incredible refreshe rate and short delays, if you where going to spend big money on those features anyways consider a projector.

This is a great question to address as the size of TVs keep getting larger.

Assuming you only need to accommodate 1-2 people, if you sit closer to an 83" OLED TV vs sitting further from a 110" Projector Screen (same viewing angle in both cases) which would provide the best overall experience?

Projector is good for Watching everything also making link with any device would you like to watch in ( TV just a device for watching streaming and choice a movie for watching by tv or making link some devices to watch in ) But projector you need a piper screen for watch or a white background, that’s mostly just a room watching, but tv anywhere you can watch, so the best choice is a tv because is the official but projector is most for office or something important or students or teachers projector from project it means something you want to make and share it in a focusing.

Great video. I never knew you could get a dedicated projector for short distances. One thing I'd mention in future vids is gaming. I use to game on a projector back in the xbox 360 days. But I havent kept up with projectors since. Whichever room has the best audio system is where my console will be set up. Curious as to how well projectors keep up with console such as latency, VRR, and 120hr

You did not mention the option to install the center channel behind an ATS which adds a lot to immersion.

So are people watching cable TV on their projector screen, and do the aspect ratio settings saved for each input?

As for a differences between OLED and LED TVs, LED TVs handle motion/action scenes better right? For example, a person running across the screen on an OLED TV you'll laggy images trailing behind vs an LED tv you wont. True or false?

Majority of streaming content is Dolby Vision. And man do I miss it watching the latest shows when in my epson projector. If tvs over 97’ are around $10, 000 then gimme that brightest hdr in my future theater.

Perfect video, i keep bouncing back and forth on which one i want, thanks for this info. My only other factor is gaming, between an OLED and BIG SCREEN Projector, i am a movie and game buff. I love all the tech TV's have brought in with HRD and DV, ALLM, etc. Are projectors getting closer to getting those types of things? I am still in the planning phase of my theater and constantly updating what i want to put in it. But those are a couple more things that keep my mind in circles lol. Thanks again!
