I've reviewed a lot of projectors and television on the channel, but I still need to compare the two technologies against each other. Surprisingly, many of you were curious about what it's like using a projector as a television, so let's break down the pros and cons and help you make the best choice for your situation!

After spending nearly the same money ($5500) on a 75" premium TV a few years ago, and now also having a dedicated room downstairs with a lamp projector ($5500) + screen... Almost everyone is more impressed with the not AS crisp but still fantastic 120" display.

I was a TV fan before I got into projectors a few years back. Now I use the TV only as a monitor for PC and the projector for anything media related. I will not go back to TVs as the main media device in the house.

Some main reasons behind a projector for my wife and I honestly was VERY low blue light. The other reason is much less space as we can project at a wall.

I bought a mooka projector for $65 and it works just fine. I just project directly onto my wall and the display is huge. Parts of it can be blurry and i had to make sure my phone had smart view capabilities, the display can be pixelated if the connection is interrupted or gets weak but its overall ok. As a single 21yo guy who lives alone, Im satisfied with my purchase

For UST projectors, you also have to factor in the screen. Because buying an UST projector without factoring in the $650 and up for an ambient light rejecting screen is folly. UST's fire light almost straight up, the projector screen *needs* to catch that light and redirect it forward (while rejecting light coming from above, or ideally all directions - the latter requires a fresnel screen design).

for me, I wouldnt ever see myself going to a projector, TV for me all the way!! But I do understand why some might want a projector, it takes in far less space for instance so I can understand.

Projectors have one HUGE advantage. You can change the picture size. This is very important to me because movies have different aspect ratios so I want to change pictures size which is impossible in TV's.

I do not have a projector and I am not a fan, because I need something that can be bright and crisps in bright ambient light. Ambient light affects projector outcome too much so it cannot be used during the day in a living room. It is intended purpose is Home Theatre.

i like my walls white colour so its TV for me always
i have many friends who have projector, but they almost never use it anymore lol
tbh projector is more like a hobby where you build your dream home theater but it isnt very practical because most of the time we will be in the living room with bright lights and big TV anyway especially nowadays big TV are cheap and can just leave it playing for long hours

I don't intend to light pollute my house with a TV, only interested in projectors and this was helpful, thanks!

In the long run TV'S offer more tech at a cheaper price if you are smart at shopping. I bought a $700 65" Vizio smart tv for my Xbox Series X and had a more enjoyable experience than I did with a projector that costs more with less tech but a bigger screen. Another thing you got to look at is the cost of the bulbs in the projectors. If your spending just as much time on a projector as you do on a tv then sell the projector and get a tv. The projector I have now is 3x more expensive than the tv I had and the quality is crap compared to the tv😂

What about input lag differences between TV's and projectors? If you're a gamer that's a very big decision-maker)

TVs are for living rooms, projectors are for theater rooms

Just bought a budget projector for a simple setup at my grandma"s house since ill be staying there often now, didnt wanna drop 500$ in a samsung 55" tv which is ok for like 500$ and instead went and spent 160$ on a projector. Well see how it goes, i still put extra sound and a tv box so i might as well get the projector, less resolution but bigger size and cheaper. most of my content is 1080p anyways so its all good.

The only advantage of projector is that it's easier to get a large screen for less

Until I can build a 200" panel TV, I'll stick with my projector screen in my dedicated room.

Why is YouTube letting me play this video in background without me having YouTube premium?

A Projector is great for "big" content(movies, shows, some game stuff, etc) Otherwise, I'm happy with a regular TV.
