BEST Bambu Mod! AMS Riser! DO THIS NOW

This is a detailed review of the X1 Carbon 3D printer from Bamboo, renowned for its high-quality, high-speed printing capabilities. The reviewer emphasizes the printer's ability to print consistently with an Automated Material System (AMS) on top, particularly when using PLA material. However, due to the enclosed nature of the X1 Carbon, it's recommended to open the door for ventilation while printing with PLA, especially if the AMS is in place, as this helps prevent jams caused by heat build-up affecting the hot end's temperature control.

A key part of the video is the introduction of a 3D printed shelf designed to sit atop the X1 Carbon, allowing for better ventilation without removing the AMS or opening the front door. The reviewer successfully printed this shelf using Polymaker PolyLite PLA, noting the impressive bridging and overhang capabilities of the printer, even though some minor imperfections were present. The shelf uses unique bow tie butterfly connectors for easy assembly.

The review concludes with the assembly and successful installation of the shelf on the X1 Carbon, demonstrating its utility and compatibility with the printer. The reviewer expresses a personal connection to the hobby of 3D printing, sharing their enthusiasm for creating functional parts and enjoying the process, especially during the holiday season. The video ends on a grateful note, thanking viewers for their support and encouraging them to engage in hobbies they're passionate about.

I decided to go with the BLV - AMS Riser, because it also got two drawers. With that I got all the extra stuff, and spare parts for the printer, out of the boxes, and into the drawers on top of the printer. :)

That was a really sweet footnote at the end. We sincerely appreciate you and everything you've done for this community Joel! You've always been a wholesome, genuine presence in 3d printing. Your content encapsulates that raw excitement for an emerging technology, and I am honored to share in your passion! High Five!

I've printed with over 100 different PLA filaments with the door closed, and the only jam I EVER got with the door shut was due to brittle filament snapping. Have you _actually_ experienced this overheating jam Joel, or are you just proactively solving a problem that supposedly exists?

Thank you for the personal bit at the end. Every time I see a content creator with a different energy to their normal videos, I worry about their health. I'm glad you're well and printing for pleasure! Happy Holidays!

Maybe it’s just the holidays and I’m feeling nostalgic, but I do miss when you just stayed home and printed really cool stuff to share with us in your backyard. 😎

We played around with some of the bambus at Microcenter today, (printed out a few benchies on them) and were really impressed at their line of printers. But... they seemed almost "too good". Seeing this print you did, it kinda makes 'Elder Maker dad' want to go back tomorrow and get an X1...just so he can print this out and MOD it.

Joel, we really enjoy your videos and we hope you and your family have a wonderful 2024.

Be well.

The end was really touching, but I was especially shocked to come to the comments and find so many positive affirmations. I've been a little disheartened with 3D printing lately. I'm hoping the X1C I just ordered will help revive the spark. Thank you for your content and positivity.

High 5 back! I haven’t had issues printing with the door closed, but I’ll still give the venting a go. Agree with you - my enjoyment of 3d printing was renewed when I got my X1C. Before that, I was on a long hiatus, not inspired to print anything for months on my CR-10S Pros or even my Prusa. Way to go Bambu!

Thank you Joel for always posting these interesting makes. And specially thanks for not falling into the toxic crap that has been taking over the 3D print community and many influencers over the past year. Happy new year!

Thank you for all your enthusiasm and dedication to 3D printing. You were one of the first channels I watched when I first got my printer a couple years ago and I’m sure there are plenty others that are in the same benchy, I mean boat!

Some of the most satisfying prints are the ones we either design and print or find a file and print for the purpose of a simple fix that we need and those AHA moments are priceless makes us remember why we got into 3d printing in the first place merry Christmas man and a happy new year I’ve been watching you since I started 3D printing going on year 3 and I love it it’s worked out awesome for my business I work for my self full time now and I get to spend more time with my family so that’s a plus you’ve been an inspiration truly appreciate everything you do, ✋

I like it. I haven't needed it. For whatever reason, I've had tons of success printing PLA with the doors closed and the lid on. I'm sure I've just jinxed it, but now I know what I'll want to print when I do finally run into heat creep on my X1C!

Total game changer my temps stay so stable by putting my back glass on the printer and front on first tong
I looked everywhere for this model that I seen on a a1 video when I found it I also found the minimalist version next to it on printable and did it with 650 grams of filament instead of 1.5 to 1.75 rolls thanks Joel hope you had great holidays

Tinkering/modding to make it your own. Awesome!
I agree with you. I still 3D Print to fix things around the house even if they don’t get filmed. I’m still amazed by 3D Printing.
