I absolutely love my x1c. My roommate who has never 3d printed before, just got a p1p and within 30 minutes of unboxing he was printing. I haven't had to teach him anything. Bambu Lab truely knocked it out of the park with a fantastic formula that just works and is great for any skill level.

The repeat prints directly from the history in the app are perfect, it is so easy to get something printed again even in different colours, just select a different spool in the AMS.
My best upgrade was the textured base plate No more glue stick 😊😊

I just had my cover come off due to the print releasing from the bed and crashing into the cover. Printing stopped at 97% dang it. But I have to agree with you, I love my XC1 Carbon so much I bought another one.

Jim you are still rocking, my dude! I love my Prusa Mini, and Prusa Support.... but I am seriously thinking about grabbing a Bambu

I think it's still worth asking the "do you want to tinker/mod/build a printer, or do you want something that just works while you spend your creative time elsewhere?" before recommending the Bambu printers. Don't get me wrong, I love my X1C, but the truth is that for a person who's interested in *building* a 3d printer it's not a great first step, because - like your microwave - using an X1C teaches you very little about how the machine *works*. For the incipient tinkerer, I think a Prusa Mk IV is probably a better choice.

Also: while a large format Bambu would be interesting, for my specific needs I'd want to go all the way to 50x50cm and that seems unlikely. So I'd much rather see them develop an "X1 Mini" - same speed, same high-temp chamber, but only a 10x10cm build volume with a correspondingly smaller chamber area. That would let me spit out minitatures and small droid parts in ABS quickly, without needing 45 minutes to heat up the whole X1C chamber.

Hello Jim!
I'm a fellow Bambu X1C fanboy for ALL the reasons you covered, and like you, I come from experience with my only other printer so far, an Ender 5+ (which is just collecting dust while I'm trying to find a buyer. If I don't sell it, I plan to upgrade it with a sonic pad).
I'm glad you mentioned the software updates and Bambu Lab's attention to issues as they come up. Also the price of the OEM parts. These are all very important factors in the overall experience of using a machine. Bambu, in my opinion, just "got it right" much more than the norm. I know I'll trigger some people by saying: like Apple got the iPhone right. Best in class. Anyway, I won't argue. Just my opinion. I plan to get one or two more X1Cs in the next month or two. Lastly, I also look foreward to Bambu releasing a larger version (as I know they will). Keep up the great work Jim!

Amazing review video! I’m new to 3D printing and the X1C is already my dream 3D printer. However, I’m only 14 and it’s a little bit out of my range :(

I just ordered an X1 Carbon a few days ago, I am SHOCKED at the prices of the spare parts, I bought a bevvy of spares for consumables like the cutter, nozzle cleaner, extra build plate types, and the 0.2mm nozzle, thinking of getting the 0.8 too. thing isn't even here yet, but I'm so friggin excited lol. (full disclosure, I just returned the creality K1C to microcenter, it wasn't garbage but it wasn't the experience I'm seeing from Bambu owners)

I love mine. I bought my X1C in Feb, my decision was based on you and Jessie.

I can't believe it's been 1 year. I have held off due to BB closed source, and also wanting to see what else is coming out. I'm still waiting. I have enough 3d printers and simply upgrading to klipper has sped up my existing machines to hold off my FOMO. Can't wait to see what happens this year. I thing that need to be improved though is multiple color speed and filiment waste

I had cover pop off too. I just taped it in place.

Jim, how much wear have you had on your carbon rods? are the bearings developing any slop? its great that Bamboo Lab have now made the purchase of new rods available.

When I saw the Kickstarter, I thought: „If something sounds to good to be true, it is probably not true“. And now, I have a carbon. 😅

I thought I'd give orca slicer a go and wow! I'm blown away! I thought the latest prusa slicer was good but orca is better again! Lol I don't have a x1c... Yet. If it works this good for other printers, I can't wait until I get the x1

I want to know ONE thing.
Can you start printing - out of the box - WITHOUT loggin in to a user, using the cloud, or in any other way using software that is in some sort of contact with Bambulab?
In other words. Can you start and use the printer without ever having it online.

X1 Carbon is fantastic once you give up on the "cool plate"
Hate that you cannot make proper filament profiles from scratch - ex and IGUS filament where you have to assume it is PLA or like....
I am generally very happy with the machine!

Great video! 👍 However, I need to share my experience. I was shipped a broken Bambu Labs printer, and it feels wrong that I'm the one having to fix it after paying for a brand-new, working machine. Support took 3 days to get back to me, and after a week of troubleshooting, we discovered it was an AC Power board issue. Instead of sending a replacement, they're only repairing the faulty one, and they completely ignored my request for a new printer. It might look like a great product, but their customer service is a letdown. I'm seriously considering a PRUSA for my next purchase.
