Dude! Finally someone brings up the filament under the fingernail! I had a piece go all the way to the back of my nail.

With the cardboard spools, I rip the two sides off and then use the spools that came with the printer as they split in half. There are also spool models built into the printer. This works the best with the AMS so far. You do not need to remove the center cardboard spool as the spool model slips under that.

The desiccant trays are awesome, so much money saved. Well the rest of the prints I already have before I saw your video, but super big thank you for sharing.

Thanks, I can't recommend that splitter however seems like that would be prone to jamming.

For the last one with the center tearing out I suggest you design you own or use mesh mixer to fill in the center for stability

Coulnt you just scale the spool thingy up a bit so it fits? or use a Master Spool and just trasnfer the Material from Cardboard to Masterspool

I don't know if polymaker changed their spool size since the models were designed, but the standard polymaker spools I have fit/work fine in my AMS without the additional adapters.

at 3:08 the box for the loose desiccant: Just add a small "pole -cylinder" as a handle in the middle as a handle so it can be removed easily from the tray:)

Also, with the poop chute container, maybe modify to angle the bottom to an outside corner, create a through hole, and put it out over a garbage can? Then as the waste comes through it'll empty right to the waste bin. Just a thought. 😁

I've given up on wheels for cardboard and gone back to printing my own full spools. I use Inland filament from microcenter, and even an extra 1/16" is enough to drag on the cover for the AMS. I may try and make my own wheels that don't wrap around the edges of the spool, but just barely extend past the edge.

Did you try to feed TPU to AMS hub for printing multiple materials with TPU ? by that way maybe we can use external spool holder -> AMS hub

When it comes to the spool cover I would say it's a perfect reason to learn some CAD software, a model like that would two minutes in Fusion360 (hobby licence) + a pair of cheap callipers.
