Do you even 5ghz? can your ivy do 5g? can your hasweasel do 5g? can you DC do 5g? can your broadwell...... lol. Can your skylake do 5g?

No they cant, but this sandy bridge i5 2500K, the last of the poor people platform soldered cpu's, on the greatest ambient cooling architecture ever made can.

In this video this i5 goes from Core 2 Quad QX9650 to i5 6600K in less than 15mins.

Also i am fully aware that the Z77 OCF is a boss motherboard and your MSI GD43 couldnt dream of ocing a celeron to 5ghz, but you this is what a sandybridge can really do when you give it some nice clean power.

Always nice to see new content. The 2500k is marvelous, I'll be tuned for part 2 for 5ghz and beyond!

actually the best tutorial i've seen. so many no nos in overclocking, but i just wanna see an old, reliable workhorse perform. if it breaks, fuck it. a used one is $25, so i'm not going to comb through long forum posts written by anxious pseuds for my answer.

fun vid, ran mine @4.4GHz for about 6 years with no issue whatsoever. Obviously not a massive OC but was on a pretty small air cooler. What a chip!

When did Brian Cox start overclocking videos

I managed 5GHz on 1.35 Volts, not stable ofc, but stable enough for Cinebench^^
edit: 672cb on C15 and 497.7 CPU-Z Single thread score (reference 7700k @ 4.2 has 492)

Back in 2012 I built a machine with a 2500k with a Noctua CPU cooler on an MSI motherboard, but I have never overclocked it.

6year old cpu still goes same clock speed as newest i9

Mine wont go over 4.8. I've tried over 1.45v but never really turn spread spectrum and speedstep off because in my experience it never makes any difference in stability. Or the +1 to base clock. But I haven't tried it since I updated my bios to this beta bios advertised as an enthusiasts over clocking bios. Maybe if my ASROCK Z68 Etreme4 Gen3 had the power phase they lied about it having in its specs it would do over that. I'll give those settings another go some time. Plus i'm not too happy doing even 1.4v with a Noctua D15 because temps are still shit. And my case has fans coming out its ass.

Goated cpu still using it with a 1060 6gb and typing this comment on the same pc overclocks are easy for me because of having a deepcool gammax cooler i got 5 ghz on 1.4 volts pretty stable

My H61M-DG3/USB3 wont let me put in anything higher than 37 in the BIOS menu? Also how do I know what voltage to use? i've got the same i5 2500k, but i've never overclocked before.

Hi there thanks for the video. I'm very new at this. I just want a "soft" overclock like up to 4.2 or 4.4

How should I start, on which core rate ? If anyone would ever answer and take the time to chat here, thanks on advance

I’ve been running mine at 4.4ghz/1.325v for years. I’m trying to push it further now but there seems to be a wall for my chip because past that it’s unstable at basically any voltage. I’m thinking it’s one of the other voltages but I’m not experienced enough to know what to change. I’ve tried PLL voltage 1.7-1.85v and no luck with that either. Anyone have any ideas?

I have mine at 4.5ghz 1.35v on hyper 212 cooler and good case. However I am using offset and LLC. I erclocked a few years back. Now I don't know how to increase to 4.8 lol. I wana keep offset cuz I don't want my cpu always at higher volts. Am I right in thinking this? Need help getting to 4.8ghz. got any good guides? Thanks!
