One time i was out walking and there was a woman with a pram and three rotwilers. All three dogs stood in a protective triangle around this woman while she adjusted her baby's blanket. That was the safest woman in the world.

8:00 This is true loyalty, the way the dog pushes the small child to keep them safe, then distracts the dog so the poor child can escape the grasp of death, truely a amazing moment!

Having a dog that is protective is one thing but when people go out in public with their dog and show they have little control over them, that's a problem. I ran into a man walking his GSD off leash on a trail at a local park. As I walked around him, he said to stay far away as his dog will attack. Since this was not a dog park and his dog IMO was over-protective and poorly socialized, why TF would he walk it off leash? There were many kids running around as well as walkers, joggers etc.... No one should feel intimidated while at a public park.

I always wanted a protective dog growing up but instead i ended up with a duck a raised as soon as it hatched and let me tell you, they're just as effective

7:49 that German Shepherd is incredibly well trained. He/She was very protective and even had the dogs hair sticking up to warn the other dog to stay away.

The shepherd at the end that protected the little girl is straight up hero. And….if you have a hyper protective dog out in public, get a damn leash! I’ve trained my last two Rottweiler and got obedience titles on them, never went out without a leash. They’re dogs, sometimes natural instinct will override any and everything.

I’ve seen the video with the crazy dog running straight at that child, a few second video. Seeing this full clip, is amazing! That dog did not play around! Very well trained, he defended, he didn’t attack, he protected till the threat was neutralizes, then walked away. Much respect to that dog and owner.

As a former victim of an unprovoked vicious (88 stitches) attack by a very large dog, the irresponsibility of an unleashed dog is beyond unacceptable. It's potentially criminal.

Almost cried when the black and tan German Shepherd protected that child. Amazing 🐕

My sister's pitbull, Opie, was always protective of her and her husband but after her husband passed away Opie changed the rules! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, wants to just walk into her house. Opie and I have known and loved each other for years, but now, I won't come in until my sissy answers the door and hugs me to show Opie I am a welcome guest. After that all is chill.
I love knowing my sister is under 100% devoted protection at all hours of day and night.
Opie looks like he should be walking up and down Muscle Beach he is soooo solid and muscled! I seriously doubt that even the first few gunshots would stop his attack on you if he sensed you meant to harm his mama. Yet, once he sees that she is good with you, he is all lovey dovey with ya!

This is why you NEED to have a good recall. OR have the dog leashed. That GSD at the beach could have just went for it in a second

I didn't have a dog growing up, but my parents have had a Russian tortoise (about 1 lb, little potato) for the past 23 years, after my parents introduced me to him, he's been incredibly protective. he would march around me if I was playing on the floor, and only my parents and maternal grandmother were allowed to pick me up, if anyone else tried to, he would start puffing/head bobbing, it doesn't sound like much but it scared anyone else who wasn't familiar with reptiles, besides, nobody ever pushed his barrier, so there's no knowing if he would have bitten, to this day we're still buddies. I also adopted a baby beardie in September, one time he was on my chest and my dad play-lunged at me, little bro assumed a defensive position and stomped his feet like he's not 3/4 of a pound. so needless to say, small reptiles can also be incredibly protective of their owners and their owner's children, while yes this requires supervision, so does any interaction between an animal and a small child.

If your dog is that protective it should be on a leash when in public. Innocent people should never be intimidated by your pet especially when their doing absolutely nothing wrong.

i have two dogs that were abused, one was locked in a cage for 4 years, the other, as a puppy, lost a leg and broke his back. we fostered, and made them family, after earning their trust and love i have no doubt they would protect my wife and I with everything they have, and i'm grateful for them...

Om gosh, I love how the pit bull Xena knew that her mama was having a baby, that’s so adorable! Now, I’m glad Avery has a guardian angel at her side :D

I am not sure what that golden shepherd looking dog was but it takes a smart animal to first get in between the child and the Doberman then drive it off but only so far and immediately breaks off from that and go back to the child. That’s a lot of complex thinking in a short amount of time. I have been saying for about a year now that I believe dogs are a lot smarter than we think

We had our pitbull Bailey for almost 17 years and she helped raise our kids. They were her babies and she was so beyond gentle with them and protective. Even when our son got older and wanted to rough house with her she was always so gentle. But do anything or even threaten her babies you'd instantly regret it. God she was the best and I miss her everyday
