I was thinking the other day about the question, "If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" I think that question is such a dumb egotistical question. The fact that it is so common represents the fundamental view that the universe exists for us, for our perception, our understanding. The universe does not require an audience. It does not need us to perceive it. Perhaps this is humanity's problem. We need an audience. We need so badly to be perceived by each other. This need has led people to go to great lengths for the recognition of others. And it has led us to give this need to the very universe itself. In order for something to be real and of value, we must see it. We must appraise its value. Just as we do with each other.

Its such a beautiful question from a human point of view, and for that it centers human consciousness and places it at higher value than all the other existence around us. If we're the Universe experiencing itself what makes you think what and how we experience things around us is meaningful or holds more importance? Maybe plants experience themselves the same but we can't hear them, or animals, or the seasons, maybe our consciousness is limited and the Universe experiences itself through all that which we can't see or hear or touch etc.

Animals exist & their view of the universe is pure. Humanity and the human's perception of anything is skewed due to our self-awareness and manufactured self-importance. Our perceptions are opinions; "slugs are gross, butterflies are beautiful." In truth, it's all just nature, and we assigned baseless qualities to things. We didn't hear a tree fall, so it didn't make a sound... as if other animals/beings do not exist or have the sense of hearing.

I think we give too much credit to humanity and who’s to say there aren’t other life form and what he said made sense if a tree falls in the woods when nobody’s around does it still make a noise it’s like schrodinger’s cat

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. - Genesis 1:1-2❤️❤️

It's not our job to look at things... Most things have a purpose in the "ecosystem" 🤷🏾‍♂️ just saying
