"Staring in the devil's face but you can't stop laughing" is also a good description for this album.

Atrocity Exhibition is like a full manifestation of a depressed person's intrusive thoughts. Manic, rapid-fire, self-deprecating, it just perfectly captures the overwhelming anxiety-ridden dialogue your brain conjures up within you. This is my favorite DB album, but I'm so glad uknowwhatimean came out after it because it gives this album some sort of emotional catharsis, that there is land on the other side of this destructive mentality.

It reminds of when I was so stressed out trying to graduate with all my projects and exams. I took more of my ADHD medication than prescribed for a few weeks. Not gonna lie, it gets a little terrifying. Felt like a party in my head but the walls kept closing in.

Like slowly sinking in quicksand while on every drug available, in a good way. An element of anxiety and impending doom but also tripping balls so much you're not really sure.

this album reminds me of that scene in Breaking Bad where Jesse's wracked with guilt after killing Gale so he throws all these drugged up parties at his house

The most accurate description of this album I've heard.

Downward Spiral is chilling. His delivery there is off the charts, the beat is haunting and his lyrics are so vivid.

Ruff please do a review on a clipping record, I’d love to hear your abrupt take on them considering they combine horror and hip hop elements.

Yes! My favorite album of the 2010’s, and one of my all time favorites. Few have ruthlessly pursued the hedonism of rap to its logical conclusion like Danny Brown did here.

It's a pretty frightening look into addiction, severe mental illness, and just overall how living a life of excess destroys you. Easily Danny's best work.
