I’m 47 years old and grew up on 80’s-90’s and 2000’s rap music. Good music is good music and it doesn’t matter if it’s older music or new music. That’s why bands like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Nirvana,Alice in Chains, STP, Tool, Chilli Peppers and many more are still being listened to today some 60 years after they came out. But the rap music especially in the last decade all sounds the same. There are not many original sounding artists besides Kendrick, J Cole, Thug and a couple others. In the 80’s and 90’s everyone had their own style and you knew who was rapping when you heard them. Today I can’t tell unless I look it up. I understand that everything comes in phases so I’m hoping that this drill shit will go away soon and these newer rappers who have yet to come out actually go and study rap music and great MC’s like Biggie, Nas, KRS-ONE, Rakim, Kane, DMX, The Lox, Wu-Tang, EPMD, Cypress Hill, Mobb Deep and many others.

The argument he's making contradicts his point lol. Rap music made by the newer artists have higher market consumption than the older artists. More people today listen to music by newer artists than older ones. Lebron shoes (the newer shoes) dont have higher market consumption than jordans (the older shoes) because more people today wear jordans than lebrons.
