Exactly how can people listen to Makaveli and say Pac wasn’t lyrical

People that say Pac wasn't lyrical doesn't know what lyrical means.

Why are we even comparing? There is no comparison. We keep trying to elevate others to Pac status but it just doesnt work. There is no one, NO ONE like Tupac Shakur. And never will be.

That shit is wild when people say Tupac wasn't lyrical. I will never understand it.

The fact that people get shocked when you pick Pac over X just shows you how crazy the internet has made a lot of us

People conflate being complex with being lyrical, the two things aren't synonymous. Kendrick said it best "some rappers using big words to make their similes heard my simplest shit be more pivotal" If an MC is using metaphor, similes, alliteration, assonance, slant rhymes, multi syllables, entendres and all that good stuff but they aren't talking about shit then it's wack, plain and simple.

That's one of the biggest hip-hop lies to diminish Pac saying he's not lyrical. Too many casuals only listen to Pac's mainstream hits and think they know his full catalog foh! We've been talking about Pac for 3 decades his music/impact will always reign supreme and no one is topping that.

He stood up for PAC like everybody else should be doing and doing for each other on the regular basis..

I bet nobody never heard the original version of Me Against the World. To me he was more lyrical there than the one that we all heard.

People always say Pac birthed X, but X was putting out music since '92, around the same time Pac released his first album. '98 wasn't X's debut. That was his re-emergence, because he was dropped from his label in the early '90s and he did a stint in prison. The only similarity X had with Pac is that they were both real and vulnerable. Pac doesn't own a copyright on being real and vulnerable. They didn't even have the same flow. Now 50 Cent after he got shot? He did sound like Pac flow-wise with the sing songy cadence. But X was his own man.

Both PAC and X, while great lyrically, were relevant because you felt ‘em. Every word mattered. Because they were RAW!
