FULL RECIPE HERE -
Grilling $5 vs $15 vs $60 Steak
Serves 1-2
Ingredients
1 $5 Rump steak
1 $15 Scotch fillet steak
1 $60 Wagyu porterhouse steak
2 tablespoons Olive oil (1 tablespoons for each the rump and scotch fillet)
1 teaspoon Salt (1 teaspoon for the scotch fillet steak)
1 teaspoon Black pepper (1 teaspoon for the scotch fillet steak)
Method
Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Fire Up the BBQ: Let’s get that BBQ ready with Heat Beads Red. Use the Chimney and Booster to make sure it’s hot. We want to equalize the playing field here.
Prep the Steaks: Rub the $5 rump steak with olive oil, and the best rub we have. The $15 Scotch fillet is just salt, pepper and a little oil, and $60 Wagyu porterhouse? Let’s see if it is great as it is.
Get Cooking: If you're going for direct heat, aim for high temp around 250°C (482°F). Grill the $5 rump steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. The $15 Scotch fillet takes about 4-5 minutes per side, and the $60 Wagyu porterhouse cooks up in 3-4 minutes per side.
Rest Time: Once all the steaks reach 130-135°F, let them rest for 5 minutes. Super important!
Taste Test: Time to dig in! The $5 rump steak surprises, the $15 Scotch fillet is moist and flavorful, and the $60 Wagyu porterhouse? Maybe I got the wrong cut; it could use a bit more seasoning. I think the $15 Scotch fillet is the winner!
