I never imagined that I would have one of the most memorable 3-Michelin-star experiences of my life in a small backstreet of Marseille.

A true culinary artist, Alexandre Mazzia is a master of toppings, techniques, textures and tastes, and his cuisine is a perfect blend of the sophisticated French style with the Congolese vibe. He cooks instinctively and follows his own rules, which is particularly exciting knowing that as a professional basketball player, he has spent half his life within a set of rules and constraints.

AM par Alexandre Mazzia opened in June 2014.
In 2015 it’s awarded it’s first Michelin star.
In 2019 star number two, and in 2021 AM par Alexandre Mazzia wins the top honor of 3 Michelin stars.

Needless to say, our expectations were high, but is it worth traveling all the way to Marseille for this experience? Let’s find out!

Your content is incredibly professional and educational for being such a new channel, but for common folk like myself I would love to hear descriptions of the dishes. Part of the draw is getting to live vicariously through you, and it's hard to imagine being there without more sensory details about the experience.

One of the most promising channels I have seen in a long time. I'm not enough of an expert on the blessed algorithm to know for sure, but this is exactly the quality of content that tends to grow big.

Crazy inspiring.

Grew up in Africa. Moved to France at 15.

Became a pro basketball player.

Then became a 3-star chef.

I'd watch a movie or documentary about this guy.

One of the best food channels on youtube, my favorite for sure. Haven't seen Marseille in a good while, in the 80's i travelled by bike from Germany to Marseille 😀

Liked the video. In the future I would like to see you explain the dishes and the ingredients a bit more if possible. You said there were 23 dishes but I don't think you talked about even one in detail. Was it a seafood focused menu? How were the desserts? etc.

Open kitchen means confidence in staff. A lot of cheffs wil show their anger when something doesn't happen at their wish. This shows me to be better and use and put your energy in the place it needs to be . Thank you Alexander to give us the chance to enjoy with you .

Hey Alexander, thanks for your work ! I have been to AM 3 years ago and it is definetly one of my best restaurant experience of my life. I felt like the creativity of the chef has no limit. All the differents tastes, textures, associations were just incredible ... I cjust an't wait to go back there. AM is such a modern and powerful restaurant, it has really tagged something in my gastronomic life.

Even if I think it's stupid, and I eat in Michelins or any other "luxury" restaurants only on the occasion of business meetings or dates, and I personally do not support the craze for these over-complicated places and so-called art (a way of milking or laundering money), I absolutely appreciate the creator of the channel. To be honest, the guy could talk about how grass grows and it would still be interesting.

Personally, I am not a fan of such restaurants, but I am 100% a fan of Alexander. I respect and greet you! Thanks for the interesting content.

The dark walls create an intimacy that feels expansive rather than claustrophobic. The plates and the plating are exquisite. I can't appreciate the wines, but I see that you are very happy with the sommelier's choices.
