That’s a nickel-copper alloy brake tubing called “NiCopp”. Best thing since sliced bread. Every auto parts store sells it.

NOT for brake lines. Brake lines are stainless steel and come pre-bent or straight sticks. HVAC work yes. Copper line like is shown is really pretty smart.

MY UNCLE was a Semi Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic showed me how to do that in 1978, I have used it more times than fingers and toes . It does work great.👍🏼

Nicop is the best thing ever made. Makes brake and fuel lines so easy, though nowadays a lot of people prefer nylon fuel lines.

Got taught this by an old Irish dude when I was younger, used it to straighten a tonne of microbore for a heating system, works great on wires too ✌️

It's interesting to see the remarks here about nicop. I remember learning about another nickel alloy, called nichrome. It's easy to guess it's constituent metals, nickel and chromium, but it's main characteristic might not be widely known. It has such a high resistance to the flow of electricity that it gets insanely hot when a current is passed through it. Nichrome is the stuff responsible for just about all electric heating elements, including toasters, electric stoves, and laundry driers.

Copper nickel brake lines are amazing! I replaced both my 99 tahoes brake lines with ease, and 3 years later no issues.
