Badger’s arrest forces Walt and Jesse into league with a shady lawyer.

New episodes of LUCKY HANK premiere Sundays at 9pm on AMC, catch up any time on AMC+.

Season Two - Episode Eight: "Better Call Saul"

Episode Description:
With the DEA on their trail, Walt and Jesse decide to hire Saul Goodman, a lawyer who has experience with clients that have been in "similar" situations. Meanwhile, Hank's relationship with Marie becomes strained as he begins to buckle under pressure.

Episode Overview:
When Badger is arrested in an Albuquerque PD sting, his first call is to Saul Goodman, a lawyer known primarily for his aggressive ad campaign. And though Badger and his sidekicks do their best to keep the arrest a secret, Jesse and Walt soon learn he’s in jail. Meanwhile, as their relationship grows, Jesse learns that his landlord, Jane, is a recovering alcoholic. And with Skyler already working weekends at her new job, a very fragile Hank arrives back in Albuquerque to a hero’s welcome from his DEA colleagues.

During their first jailhouse meeting, Saul makes it clear that he can offer the best defense money can buy – just as soon as Badger comes up with the cash. However, after spotting the detective who arrested his client talking with Hank and his partner, Saul is sure he can make a deal if Badger will turn over his supplier to the Feds. Upon meeting to pay for Saul’s services, Walt realizes that the lawyer is working to get Badger released in exchange for turning over his partners – namely him and Jesse. But when Saul refuses $10,000 to make sure Badger never talks to the DEA, Walt and Jesse meet to plan their next move.

Desperate to keep Badger quiet and out of jail, Walt and Jesse don ski masks and kidnap Saul. Upon realizing that he’s dealing with a pair of amateurs and not a ruthless Mexican drug cartel, the lawyer offers to hire ex-con James Kilkelly – aka Jimmy In-N’-Out – who is willing to be arrested as the supplier. However, as Hank is left feeling that something isn’t quite right about the bust, a little investigating leads Saul to learn more about Walt. And after approaching him in his high school classroom, he offers his legal services to the drug ring.

God I love how they’re connecting Everything together it’s like watching deleted scenes

I love how the context of this scene was originally Saul showing up to lord his power over Walt in order to continue their partnership, but after last night's episode, it's clear that Jimmy's only here because he couldn't help himself and leave well enough alone.

"A good prequel adds layers and depth to the original source material"

When I first watched BB I dreaded that Saul was going to the "annoying lawyer guy" who'd be a thorn in Walt's side, but instead he was probably his greatest ally, not to mention one of the most memorable characters.

That lawyer is awesome, he deserves his own show

Now we know that Saul actually believed in Walt's capabilities to make them rich, even if Mike told him he was not worth it. God, I love how Better Call Saul contextualizes everything on Breaking Bad.

The way Better Call Saul has completely elevated so many different aspects of the already incredible Breaking Bad is an absolute feat in story telling holy hell

Walter with that “teacher’s glance” at 0:11

Ironically, Saul Goodman was the most honest main character in the show.

Now, Walter White has become a a side character in Jimmy's story. For a prequel, THAT is impressive

Chuck was right. Jimmy really could not keep his hands out of the cash drawer.

0:10 that is such a teacher look the way he expects a student to walk in. Bryan did a great job as Walter.

Mike in BCS 6x11: "He's a high school chemistry teacher." (Saul reacts with surprise.)
Breaking Bad 2x8: "Oh my God. You really are a chemistry teacher!"

"My PI guy charged me for three hours so I seriously doubt it took him more than one."

The idea of Mike being so annoyed with Saul for calling him for a such a simple job that he overcharges Saul is just hilarious to me for some reason.

After watching BCS and seeing what happens in S6E11, this is the moment where I realize just how much of a pivotal role Saul/Jimmy really had in Walt's drug empire and everything that's ever happened after he set him up with Gus and Mike. It literally all started with him.

The fact that this episode is called Better Call Saul and in BCS the episode is called Breaking Bad is perfect!! It’s literally these two shows colliding
