Agreed. Using a bar chart is immensely better.
The only case in which I believe you could use a pie chart is if the following three conditions apply:
1. There are no more than 3 categories and there are none which are "too small"
2. The focus is not on "how much bigger" is each category relatively, but only "which is bigger"
3. If you are already using "many" bar charts, especially in the same slide, so you can add additional flavor

I came with the mindset, Oh man, Pie isn't so bad, but let me still watch coz I have absolutely Loved Dan's other videos in this playlist

Compelled to say I agree once again, completely, especially after the rationale shared about Visual Ambiguity, Clutter, and Scalability issue.

I just feel that maybe pie isn't so bad if it is 3-4 categories and sometimes just helps break the monotony from those square rectangle lines/bars/shapes in these 6:
Column Charts, Stacked Column Charts, 100% Stacked Column Charts
Bar Charts, Stacked Bar Charts, 100% Stacked Bar Charts

I get your message but I wouldn't say "never" because is some cases pie chart gives the visual representation of a piece to whole, esp when there is < 3 data points to show

I agree, pie charts are rubbish. Never use them.

I do use histograms liberally, and again plain simple.

No "3d effects" nonsense, no round cylinders, nothing: just simple bars.

The rule is always: keep it clear!
