The real scare this Halloween seems to be declining birth rates globally. Reports say, it could grind to a halt by 2050. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping is telling women to cultivate a 'child-bearing culture' to combat this trend. Here's what Priyanka Sharma has to say.

Women are not going to have children if we don’t want them and there isn’t a damn thing anyone will ever be able to do about it. A declining birth rate is a very good thing in the long run. And a declining birth rate does not mean the human race will become extinct.

Something that doesn't get talked about is that once it starts becoming normal not to have kids, if you are and your friends don't have kids then there is less social pressure to have kids, and friend groups can stay intact. I've been part of many friend groups but they usually fall apart once people have kids and people move to cheaper areas or just get too busy, then those without kids feel pressure to do the same. This is as aspect of the spiral of falling birth rates that doesn't get talked about. Less kids makes it easier socially to not have kids also.

Declining birthrates are great for our long term survival, overpopulation is killing our Planet.
There will be no shortage of eldercare workers or evconomcic collapse, that's just another fearmongering.

I see mothers and just see endless household work grind and miserable relationships with the father. Nope, I am better off with an i tact body and my own income and time for hobbies and friends.
