Many plastics have estrogen like properties, but do not fulfill the role of estrogen. So women's sex drive has decreased over the past 50 years. Men have become more feminized, with lower sperm counts and lower sex drive as well.
Add in that most of our 20s is spent in school, finding a low paying entry level job, and paying debts, the prime of our lives is turned away from family formation and focused around building wealth. More of the same in our 30s. Housing prices, cost of living, food, these are all increasing faster than wage growth.

This is engineered. It is predictable and was already well known in the 1960s.

I can't speak to any other country, but here in the u.s.a. young people are too broke to afford having children people most of our money goes towards rent, and we're lucky if we have leftover for groceries. Who can afford to have a child in this scenario? Even in household where both parents are in money, a lot of that money is going towards childcare. If Mom gets a part-time job so she can take care of the child care, she loses her benefit. It's a terrible House of Cards that's collapsing, and it's not just because people don't want to have sex or get married.

In the future the bulk of society will be elderly. Just having enough farmers, nurses, general labor and etc to care for people will be tough.
Poor elderly people with no children will become equivalent to trash. Society will have to turn a blind eye to them, and with no children of their own who care enough to provide for them, they will die in the streets alone.
