OMG, finally someone explained this beautifully. It took all these years for me to find someone to open my eyes to how I have always wanted to hear myself play. Thank you so much, you are God sent.

This one of the MOST helpful tutorials out there! I'm glad I found this! :'D

I like how he bluntly says this is NOT the right way to play at the beginning. It goes against the sentiment that "there is no wrong way to play" which I also like, but I've noticed that people are taking that sentiment to new levels, promoting mediocrity and being paranoid of challenge and criticism. Thank you for not being afraid to tell people they're wrong in a world where people increasingly feel the need to be told they're right no matter what.

I never heard or saw an explanation about a piano as an orchestra before. I have a shortcut on the desktop of my computer, so I can see this over and over again! It is very helpful, thank you so much!!!

I tried this method last night and I was able to play chords and melody together for the first time! I could play accompaniment piano quite well but chords and melody was hard for me. This is the clearest video I have seen on this topic.

omg.. i should have found this video before my few months of random improvisation. This makes so much sense. Piano is a representation of the Orchestra. Your illustration of the Chord Melody as a 3-part system is mind blowing for me. Thank you so much

Good morning Mr.Dantoni.I usually get ''lost'' in details, because of my passion for details, and as a self taught/teaching musician for just about one year, I am extremely happy to have come across your tutorial.Thank you.

This is one of the best music tutorials I've ever seen. Thank you SO much. EVERYONE ELSE only seems to teach "play the chords in the left, and the melody in the right".... when they themselves don't play like that at all! Thanks for laying things out so beautifully for us. Subscribed!

For what I've been looking for, this is definitely one of the top three, and maybe just the best, piano lessons that I've ever found on YouTube.

Wow. I have been playing for almost 45 years. While I can play the piano, I'm not a good pianist. It's been a tremendous blessing and an outlet for venting emotions and an avenue for artistic creativity. I never practiced to improve. I played for pleasure and early on that was so much that I did improve of course. I was easily challenged. Eventually I got to a point that i wasn't improving because there was no focus on it. I never saw playing the piano as work. Not one time. So, here I am almost 60 years old and haven't played in over a month.

I have seen many many ways to "learn the piano" courses. Some were good. Some very good even. Jermaine at GMTC gets special props from me. Those guys are great an the system of learning makes sense to me. Your approach is a paradigm shift from the norm though. The analogy of speech couldn't be more elucidating. We know how to speak quite well before we learn to read and write. Your approach to speaking the language of the piano with practice simply enabling us to be more fluent and accurate in our communication hits home with me. I only saw the exercises in the basic. Just like a bell ringing - how simple but impactful. It's about opening new synaptic pathways. Very cool. I understand many others are touting similar ideas but I, personally, didn't hear the idea as succinctly as I did from you. I wasn't moved to action.

As life around the world slowly returns to some facsimile of normality I am going to settle into your method and do some work on the piano for the first time in my life.

Thank you. Brilliant!

You are great....because this piano-chord technique is the most powerful and effective way of playing piano...this may be an expert level but will attract every one's heart...
Please post more videos ON CHORD MELODY..

that was exactly what i needed to hear. i've been trying to learn piano (i come from sax world-single note at a time, 2 if i'm being fancy) and picking up piano so late in life is ... a challenge to adjust my thinking...this was perfect. thanks!
