I just saw this today with my partner and thoroughly enjoyed it! What I especially liked is the fact that no one died. That’s especially refreshing in a Pixar film. I get what you’re saying about kids getting it. But, as an adult (especially having grown up close to a military base) and there was always the threat of my new friends leaving - I totally got it. So as an adult I feel like I connected the most with the bittersweet emotion of Nostalgia.

Just saw this with my 13 year old daughter and we both really enjoyed it. Saw a number of scenes that reflected her current maturity level and emotional state. Glad I got to see it with her.

Pete Doctor, the director of the first movie, is actually the chief creative officer at Pixar now. He's right under Bob Iger. I imagine thats why he wasn't available to direct. Lol.

I'm really happy to hear rhere are no "demise of Bingbong" level events in this one.

This movie was fantastic. I enjoyed it more than the first one. They nailed Anxiety.

Animations, need that "extra appeal" for that effort to watch it. This sounds zany, and light despite its 'heavy' theme on being overwhelmed by emotions, for a teen...Better for its relatability for all ages, positive vibes is good!
