That was my philosophy too until I got CHT ($20 a pop) and now I learned to clean it. 😂

Good ideas for expensive nozzles like diamond and ruby

I have a $98 Diamondback nozzle in my printhead. I just tried printing with a wood colored PLA with wood fibers in it. It clogged my nozzle, and it stunk like burned wood. I was so worried. I did some cold pulls. It works again. Phew!

I use a gas powered soldering iron from Dremel and simply take off the nozzle from printer and using fire torch simply burning it while all plastic and goo wont come out. Then cool it in water. All procedure takes about 3-5 min. And I know how it is unsafe =-P

I use a noclogger and it works way better than accidentally stabbing myself with a needle and it usually gets 100% of the filament out of the hot end and nozzle because it is the same diameter as a roll of 1.75 filament

The Amazon links for those I love the cleaner and the acupuncture things for pimento for nozzle

So far I’ve had the most success with cold pulls. The nozzle needles are always a mess for me. What do you consider an acceptable life span for your nozzles? (Hours per nozzle?)

Are hardened nozzles any better then? or is it better to just buy a lot of cheaper nozzles and constantly swap?

Once you replace the nozzle, do you attempt to clean the dirty one while it's off?

Purge fliament does not last forever
😂 I always run cleaning fliament in-between colors.
Prevention is worth a pound of filament

I had a clogged nozzle so bad it affected the whole hot end. And rhe new nozzle clogged because of how extensive the clog was, i had to replace the whole hot end.

My capricorn tube inside the hotend always clogs before my nozzle. Any suggestions for that? And I do use the cleaning filament everything I switch colors.

How long do you let your nozzles go before you replace them? And do hardened or coated nozzles last longer?
I have hardened volcano nozzles which cost about $24 each.

Have you seen the bamboo lab 3d printer that was on kickstarter. If you did, did you get one or do you have one on order.
I’m so excited to get mine
