I used to work for Toyota, and I can tell you the hybrid models almost never go wrong. 200k is nothing for these, I have seen original Prius still on the same batteries still running fine. They are built to last 👍

Probably one of the cleanest cars you've shown us all for awhile. Your car valeters should be impressed with this one. Good to see older cars being kept alive.

A pretty good endorsement of Toyota's hybrid system and quality overall.

I bought my 2010 Toyota Prius 4 years ago with 2ooK miles for 3 grand (US Dollars). I now have over 4ooK miles on this Prius and it runs great!

A car like this is just perfect for someone who wants something that is cheaper runs a long time with the basic maintenance and good room I know the battery pack is always the worry but since it was replaced recently I would imagine this thing will run for many many many more years to come glad your luck is changing for the better you definitely deserve it we need more respectful and reasonable dealers like you

Here in Thailand, a Prius with 191K miles would be considered as not even run in They're easily good for 600K - or 1M Klms.

Bought a 2012 Prius 2, 5 years ago with 137k. Now it has 210k. All original. No problems so far. Service every 15k at the local Toyota dealer including hybrid check. If something happens to the hybrid system they will fix it. Guaranteed till car is 15 years old. Brother in law was impressed. Bought a 2009 Prius with 240k. Same story. All original an now 300k+. Amazing cars!!

Hi Matt, you hit the nail on the head with regard to these cars. Have owned 3 different generations of Prius, not one has given me any mechanical or electronic problems. Just regular servicing. Here in Australia 10000km/6 monthly service intervals takes any worries away. Current gen 4 2017 model one set of tyres and a 12volt battery. 62-64 mpg and a transmission service in the next few months. Just start and go. Great channel, enjoy all the videos.

So glad to hear complimentary things. I’ve got a late 2010 with 90, 000 miles and it is an extraordinary car. I’m a huge petrolhead, but I’m also broke and the Prius is the perfect daily driver. Efficient, comfortable and literally costs us pennies to run. Superb cars and glad this one seems to have worked out for you!

Matt, you seem to have a knack of putting out videos I am instantly interested in.

I never thought I would ever get excited about a 200, 000 mile Prius but sure enough I am.

Perhaps it is because you live in the real world and buy cars we can all reasonably afford.

Another great video Matt. So many “car lovers” can’t help being negative about cars like this but sometimes they are just fit for purpose. The variety you provide from Range Rover, Jaguars, Audis etc to the most common place vehicles is why I keep coming back.

Definitely smashed it with this purchase Matt especially considering it is a one-owner car. I think before tax a well-earned little profit which will defo help towards a couple of renovations in your new venture into the property market 🙏

I traded an ex-taxi second gen Prius a few years ago. It had done 730, 000km, the owner claimed he'd never changed anything, and the hybrid system worked perfectly, the trip meter was still reading 21km/litre economy.

Just stumbled on this channel. At last, everyday cars with a guy that knows what he’s talking about.

Makes a change from the usual Ferrari v Lamborghini drag race every other car channel is doing.

Very enjoyable. Seen Prius going on 300k miles, still going strong.

Keep on doing these everyday cars please.

This is one of those cars that's tempting to just keep kicking about. It's cheap enough not to really worry about, it'll always run and is zero fuss.

I have a relative who lives in New Jersey, USA, and they have a Prius which they use to commute to work every day, with 375, 000 on the clock. It's been maintained regularly and it still runs like new. The only things they've had to renew, are the service items you'd expect to have to change.

I’ve never driven a Prius, and I don’t need to change my car, but you’ve almost sold it to me! It looks great. Perfect for someone who needs a cheap car but doesn’t get excited about torque peaks etc. Hope you get a good result!

As a person who moved into this country the first thing I was recommended was "go get a Japanese car, they won't fail you" As this video shows

My first car here is Toyota Corolla 2006 petrol with 115k mileage, 100% working serves me well with the AC so strong it got me cold in the heatwave days in 2021. After a bit of settling, I switched to an 89K mileage Nissan Note 2014 because of loads of option extra and cruise control needed.

This little Note is just the same as what I always drive in Japan, whether in the hot weather like Okinawa, or the gigantic city in Tokyo to the snow mountain of Nagano, or in this country from London to Plymouth, and Broadstairs back to London, they were never let me down, all function with a green tick.

They maybe lack of drivability to their counterpart in Europe, but the reliability of them is always trustworthy.

Another great video!

As usual a brilliant video on a hybrid car . You are the best car detective out there could watch you all day 😊

Still driving my 2003 Prius, it is just reaching 200, 000 miles and is pretty much as good for mileage as it was the day we got it. Still prefers long runs in hot weather, doesn’t like cold starts and short journeys. We’ve been expecting to need to replace it for the last couple of years, but it just keeps. on. going! Plenty of dings, knocks, scrapes and dents on the outside though.
