10 mins of focused practice on just a hard bit of a piece of music a few times a day is better than being frustrated for 45 mins or an hour all together.

I'm watching this again with one more year of experience under my fingers. That's the sign of a good video, that it touches pianists no matter what their experience level.

Excellent strategies and tips, I agree 100% with every one of them! Still in a beginner status here, I've learned the hard way through trial and error (!) that there is definitely a point where I have to step away from the keyboard, and go do something different LOL Sometimes that happens after only an hour of practice, and rarely reaches, say 3, hours. There's a point of diminishing returns where more time simply does not help. And surprisingly, when I do come back, things start going better LOL

For me i think what has helped me is practicing chords and inversion, scales and then i play songs in numbers....this helps me get a grip on shapes so i don't have to over think things... and i try not to spend too much time so i don't get frustrated...i try to break my practices in bits

I'm new to piano and thinking about trying to learn a song after practicing some chords and learning thr keys. Thinking about breaking things down into manageable chunks was helpful, along with the entire video 🙂 thank you for all the videos!!!!

What practice methods usually work best for you? Share your tips below 🎹 There’s no exact way to practice that works for everything but these 2 principles should always be applied to whatever you’re working on. Good luck!

If you’re mainly focused on blues playing would you put a caveat on tip #1? Comfortability in More fingerings the better without constraint to one or the other to create more freedom in future improvisation? Thanks for channel & work!

Hi, thanks for amazing videos. I have a question. Which fingers I should use when I'm just playing lead melody on top of the chords. Should I use exact fingers when I'm running scales or I can play whatever comfortable at the time. Cause it's usually hard to understand where I'm in the scale

I am just starting to learn a little piano and for some reason I keep getting a bad cramp in my right pinky finger and it goes all the way up the side of hand, my wrist and arm, then it hurts so bad I have to stop! And it's Everytime I play! What am I doing wrong? 😖
