GM really needed to do something extra with the ZR2 powerplant at that price, either tune it for more or add a blower to hit 500+hp

I was surprised GM didn't do a unique twist to the engine in the ZR2 but the 3.5 eco boost time doesn't surprise me. If I remember correctly the 3.5 eco boost engines (hybrid, high output, regular) are some of the most powerful stock engines available right now, TRX is king of course and not factoring in companies like Shelby who make their own versions of trucks the 3.5 eco boost engine stock is a beast. Looking forward to seeing the new upcoming hurricane engine for the dodge ram go up against it.

chevy dropped the ball on the zr2. neutered it before it had a chance.

Cool video. I have to admit I have lost interest in the Chevy after I heard they want to charge a monthly fee for some of the features that come with the truck. I'm soured on the whole brand.

The funny thing is that 10 years ago, this ZR2 would be the talk of the town. Although the power plant is certainly impressive by any standards, it's just not up to the level of the Raptor, and especially not the TRX. At a lower price point, I could see these trucks selling well - but when trying to compete with the "big boys", it doesn't have the WOW factor.

It’s a shame GM didn’t make this truck more unique. Same engine same body practically. Literally just shocks and tires. Not surprised though from GM.

What you really need to do is race that ZR2 against a Tremor. The Raptor is a whole different class of truck. The Raptor will beat the ZR2 on road, off road, drag race, Baja, just name it. The Tremor is more suited for the class of competition the ZR2 brings, and there are in the same ballpark as far as price goes. That’s where I think the comparison would be a bit more even.

Gapped 3 lengths, no surprise. Andre was incorrect, it was 1.32 seconds faster, in the 0-60 world thats a bunch.

Chevy, do us all a favor and figure out what you're trying to do with your design.

1:40 the ad lmao. Finances up to 50k while standing in front of a 90k truck 😂

I've owned all Chevy with the exception of one Buick the last 43 years.I'm done with GM!! Terrible warranty and customer service.

GM would sell tons of ZR2's if they put in 4.10 gearing and put on 35" tires at the current price point. It would be the perfect balance of price to features of what the ZR2 is supposed to be. Currently, it's too expensive, it has the wrong gearing and the tires are too small. It's that simple.

Both are great trucks but if the Ford didn't have turbos it would be just a v6 motor with not much power. I really don't think we are comparing apples to apples here. I like the raw power of the Chevrolet V8.

At that altitude the GM is only actually producing about 380hp while the twin turbo is still producing very close to the 450hp

I wish they would come out with a ZR2 custom like the trailboss for the people that actually want to offroad. More so plain interior stock suspension. Keep the bumpers and lockers add a 5.3v8 and the 3.0 i6. Knock the price down 15-20k.

Good to see Kase in front of the camera again. The kid is extremely well spoken and knowledgeable.
I'm also happy to see sponsors that are relevant to what TFL does. My brain thanks you!

No arguing the Raptor will always beat the ZR2 in a drag race but I wonder how much closer it would be at sea level? Air is thin a mile up, major disadvantage for naturally aspirated engines

GM really dropped the ball by not supercharging the 6.2.

IMO there's WAY too much emphasis being placed on 0-60 as a performance standard.

As much as i love the new ZR2, I'm still gonna have to put my money on a Colorado ZR2 with the 2.8 duramax or the trail boss with the 3.0 duramax.
