I'm that guy who drives around resting my palm on the shifter. It's so satisfying pulling a lever rather than rotating a dial or punching at buttons to change gears.

My perfect truck would comprise of the Duramax engine, the Ram interior, the GM multiflex tailgate, GMC exterior, Ford pro onboard power in the bed and the back window of a Tundra lol

I looked at all of them, researched them until I reached the end of the internet. I test drove all of them and ended up buying a new Ram 1500 4x4 Bighorn (didn't want leather). This is the most loaded bighorn I have ever seen, about every option you can throw at it...I love it! It is such an awesome truck. I bought my last truck brand new, a 2001 Silverado extended cab. I still have it and not parting with it because it only has 165K miles and runs like new and still drive like new-ish. Great video, good to see real people giving their opinons

Honestly, they are all good trucks, in my opinion it all comes down to personal preference, i don't think you can go wrong with any of those trucks.

My man Jim knows the deal with that step. When I was a youngster, I used to break my old man's stones about it. He's long since passed on and now I'm getting up there and feeling it. I have no doubt he's laughing at me from beyond.

The other day I was on highway 77 south in south east Texas. I passed a Tundra towing a Ford, a Chevy and ram trucks. People here go up north to auctions and buy vehicles and bring em back to sell. I almost started to follow the Tundra so I could maybe buy the Tundra but then I realized I was already driving a 4runner.

Those guys lost me when they stated they liked the rotary shifter.

Get back to me when these trucks have 100, 000 miles on them and talk about how many times each has been in the shop and what for. This looks like just some old guys talking about where they like the cup holders and tailgate to open to get their golf clubs in and out.

Nice review video but who in the world can afford an $70k+ 1/2 ton??!! And they have less payload than older trucks, it’s ridiculous!

I don't hate any of those trucks but for me It's Chevy although I wouldn't go for the High Country. I personally love my Trail Boss. It has styling off road performance and most of the comforts all around.

IMO, column shifter still the best. You can do EVERYTHING with a column shifter that you can do with the others....AND....you can have bench seat for another person if you ever need it. AND....you still have a center console.

That was a fun video Tim, great to be able to compare side by side like that. I really enjoyed your friends direct and immediate feedback from each model. These guys are obviously knowledgeable truck owners that know and use trucks. I also found it interesting, my selection/pick if you will was the same as well.

A push button shifter is one less thing to have problems with??? Umm, pretty sure you have that backwards lol

Be interesting to see which one you prefer Tim since you’ve owned 3 of the 4? But you have to take into consideration the different trim levels. Some of those trims are 10-15k higher than the others.

I have owned Ford, gmc, and Ram, had problems with all of them, never been stranded or broke down in a Toyota, 4cy or v8 .I will be buying the tundra for the long haul ! American trucks seem to be in the parts business.

If you had a column shifter then you have the middle area free just make more column shifters that's what I want

I’m almost 60. I’ve been driving pickups on the family Ranch since age 9 (very normal back in the day). Anyway these trucks are all absolutely amazing in comparison to the trucks of my youth.

As a matter of fact… my dad, recently passed away, pulled a 35’ fifth wheel with his 2002 Toyota Tundra!! I’m not kidding. He put airbags in the rear and sold his 1995 F-350. That 1995 Tacoma out pulled the F-350! He took that trailer to a Lake Tahoe from Victorville several times a year lol! But understand this. When he started driving, he learned in a 1946 Ford 1-ton pickup. He saw the Tundra as an amazing piece of engineering far far more capable
Than the 3/4 and 1-ton pickups he owned all the way through the mid 90’s!

Here is something to think about! Take a 1995 Ford F-350 with the diesel engine. Look at its weight, the kind of and size of brakes, at its low end torque and horsepower. Look at its 0-60 times and its stopping distance under normal load. Then look at the 2023 Ford F-150 with max trailer package. The 2023 half ton will weigh the same or just a little more than the 1995 1-ton It will have more power, better brakes and can absolute pull a 18, 000 lbs trailer better than the 1-ton 1995 truck!

For me, I prefer Ford better than the Ram. I don’t care for the Rams coil springs under a load and I feel the styling is feeling dated.

Nice vid, they all picked the most expensive truck....weird? :)

Keeping the Tundra around to have something to drive while the chev's in the shop? ;)

I have a 2021 RAM Longhorn edition, and I absolutely love it. The other trucks are good, too, but the RAM takes the prize in my opinion.

Different trims hurt this comparison deeply. 78k, then 68k, 67k then 59k. What kind of comparison can be made?
