That 1st part is the very reason why obi wan just can't kill vader, the memories of anakin and him are just too much for him to handle. I also think vader saying "anakins gone" was just anakins way of saying "I can't be anakin anymore master, I just can't I tried to but it brought me nothing but pain"

You can tell how sincere he is too. He could’ve just stopped him and said nah you’re not a disappointment and moved on but he took a moment to really listen to anakin’s words and then support him.

That scene hurts everytime I watch it. It was the last time when these two brothers in arms talked to each other as friends. Anakin's expression in this particular scene seems like he is actually bidding goodbye to his master for one last time without knowing after some moment he himself will fight with him to be almost dead. This is tragic man :)
