Loved this breakdown — so many women are still stuck eating “healthy” but gaining in menopause. Totally agree it’s not just about calories anymore… hormones and gut health shift everything. 🙌

I’ve been seeing big changes in clients once we focus on food timing and stress triggers too. This was spot on!

Nice video one thing I can say that helped with hot flashes was eliminating all dairy unless it was organic also meat has to be organic it was so precise that as soon as I ate at a restaurant or at a friend’s house I that night the hot flashes would be unbearable. But a few days of no hormone dairy or meat almost no flashes. Ashwaganda helped too❤️🙏

Thanks so much. I am now 61 yrs young. Had Hysterectomy at 32 (after birth of 2nd premie), due to serious issues. Have Systemic Lupus, causing Cardiomyopathy... damage from yrs of SLE causing stage 3 CKD, and CHF, and also have RA and the list goes on!!! Too many organ and joint surgeries to count! Anyway had really hard time with Menopause espec being so young after Hysterectomy. I couldnt go on Hormone repl cuz Ive had 2 DVT's and positive Anticardiolipin...Had severe hot flashes for yrs. I went on Black Cohosh as suggested by my PCP because of how I cant take Hormone Repl Therapy, and it helps me immensely! The hot flashes diminished! It is a Godsent for me! Ive been eating this diet your explaining for a few yrs, and I maintain 120 lbs. It works! Dont get me wrong, I love candy! But when I eat my parfaits with fresh berries and nuts I feel like im eating desert and it satisfies me. Im not saying I never cheat...you have to cheat sometimes, and reward yourself, but put it into perspective! Ive recently had 4 major reconstructive jount replacement surgeries of both hands from damage of a double wammy having SLE & RA damage! Just because my hand are recouping doesnt mean my legs arent working! So i keep moving! I Keep walking....I keep moving and exercising with my legs, and for me, thats been the key to this whole issue. Keep moving and exercising, and eat right for your body, and health issues, and you will feel better, and look better too. I promise! Age is not a punishment! It is a reward for those years well spent that we have served those we love. Sit back and enjoy life. No one at 65 is going to look like they are 25! Those were years I served and earned with respect, and I have become friends with them. Society makes aging a defecit....and its a reward for the years Ive spent. Learn to embrace and enjoy the process!

I've been doing a keto diet and I lost the stubborn 15 pounds that had been dogging me for 10 plus years and my hot flashes stopped. I've never felt better!❤

Sardines are also good to eat because you are eating the entire fish including the skin and bones.

Put the avocado in your smoothie, along with the leafy greens, citrus and greek yogurt. Great way to kick start your day!

Thanks Dr Mary Claire! I've summarised your video, for anyone who may need it (in no particular order):

1. Nuts (amazing anti-fat superfood - women who snacked on nuts lost 3 X as much weight as those who didn't). Packed with healthy fats which lower inflammation. Also fibre which decreases hunger and snacking.

2. Avocado - the 'perfect' food - lower triglycerides, lower bad cholesterol, higher good cholesterol, packed with higher healthy fats. Also potassium and Vitamin B! 50% less chance of suffering from metabolic syndrome (which includes type 2 diabetes)

3. Leafy greens - spinach, kale, salad. At least twice a day! Decreases risk of colon cancer (which is a heightened risk at our age). Increases water, fibre, keeps you full, great source of calcium and Vitamin D for bone strength/support.

4. Citrus - lemons, limes, grapefruits - can help fight hot flushes and packed with antioxidants for healthy skin and cancer-fighting.

5. Greek yogurt - packed with protein (for muscle strength which supports bones), calcium (for bone density), vitamin D - all of which help to reduce bloating.

6. Salmon - essential healthy fats and omega 3 - you can eat as much fresh salmon as you like. Perfect superfood.

Note: Omega 6 oils - in seed oils, processed foods and pastries, these are highly inflammatory when NOT eaten in good proportion with omega 3 - and salmon is perfect antidote. You can eat AS MUCH SALMON AS YOU LIKE, you can't overdo it!

POST menopause was when the s***t hit the fan for me. Digestive issues, belly fat…and I have been a lifelong health nut too. Very frustrating.

That's exactly what I eat. Greek yoghurt with blueberries and walnuts! :) I add some beetroot powder and a little bit of cocoa. All organic. And of course the coconut :) exactly what I do. Love it.

Raises so many questions. Where you are in the US Factory farming of dairy has hormones and huge antibiotic use thereby killing our own guts (re yogurt). And salmon should be wild for sure but what about all the mercury being found in fish? I think it’s much harder to actually eat clean and healthy than ever before. A pure omega3 which has been tested for pollutants (and has removed them) might be a much safer bet. Our oceans have boom e quite unhealthy. Apparently krill oil which is harvested in the oceans around Sweden is good.

Add collagen to protein shakes, or drinks. Your joints, belly, skin, hair, nails will love you.
