USB-C Port not working, charging or recognized on Windows 11/10

Primarily, a USB Type C or USB-C connection is used for either connecting mobile phones, docking stations, or charging your Windows 11/10 PC, but some unforeseen conditions like incompatibility in hardware-software combination can upset the connection. In such cases, notifications displayed on your Windows PC screen can help you pinpoint the problem and try few tips to fix things quickly.

Here are some USB-C notifications you might receive if there’s a problem:

PC isn’t charging
USB device functionality might be limited
Display connection might be limited
USB device might need more power
Unsupported USB-C Audio Adapter
MHL device functionality might be limited
USB4 device functionality might be limited
USB device not recognized
Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited
Slow USB charger connected
Use different USB port.

Before you begin, make sure that you have installed all the latest Windows Updates on your device. If you receive messages like This USB port doesn’t support DisplayPort or Thunderbolt or MHL or The USB device might have limited functionality when connected to this port, use a different USB Port to connect. Guys, i've tried all solutions that i saw on youtube, but i found a solution in HP's Forum(i have asus rog laptop).
Solution that worked to me: Turn off your laptop, unplug charger and then hold down power button for at least 5 seconds: boom, usb-c working again, just like Magic.
Before this i've tried updating Bios, drivers, Windows. Unistalling usb and installing again...

PSA: Asmedia 3142 does not support fast charging. If your mobo has C ports, they are guaranteed not to charge your phone. If you have realtek/intel front USB-A, they are "medium chargers", which means they're not as fast as "fast charge", will not indicate anything on the phone about fast charge, but are definitely good at charging a phone. 15 mins for a 50% charge.

My USB C on my motherboard does not cause my phone to prompt for permission to share files, which indicates to me it's a useless perk on my motherboard as it does not apparently support data transfer.

If your usb c problem started after you plugged the wrong or incompatible usb c cable, i think u need to reinstall your bios, I've been searching and watching and reading so many stuff online and tried them all, none of them work at least for me, then I got an idea to reinstall the bios, and it's finally fixed now, mine is Lenovo btw, hope it helps
