I honestly think this video is just pointless and offers no useful information to RPM. When you said that the revenue share formula is complicated, it's not - fairly simple and understanding that is a big part of Shorts RPM. Also, you say you haven't done anything to shift audiences, but didn't actually show us much of the geography tab. Maybe that US audience shot up, even if you weren't trying, that's an explanation. I do not believe that your just over 1m Shorts views per month is enough data for this, especially considering the monetisation threshold is 3x that. I get a fair few Shorts views each month, in May I'm so far at 160m, but the main point being, I would like to see more data to back up your point, a few Tweets from other creators isn't enough. Any changes I have seen to my Shorts RPM has been exclusively to do with geography changes, and within each country, I have seen no changes. I won't mention the push of VidIQ premium tools, but the actual video itself was well edited.

My shorts rpm is currently at $0.15, and longform RPM $2.23! I don't know how this compares to other players in my niche but I'm happy with it so far!

You are right! For the first couple of months of shorts income my RPM was €0.04, this last month it was €0.09. Since it is still next to nothing I hadn't noticed!

You missed the part about actually getting monetised on YouTube is an absolute joke. 10 million views in the last 90 days is ridiculous. I never seem to get more than 20k views after consistent posting for 3 months and I gave up. TikTok is still the place to be for short form content.

I noticed this too!! My RPMs have been $0.10 and $0.20! Because of how the monetization works, my assumption is that Finance shorts do not get paid more than Prank content shorts - unlike how there's a massive difference with long form content

I've checked gaming, info, music channels rpm compare to 2022 and 2024 they decreased the RPM of their long form video's thought's?
