Just a little hint from a longer time owner with the self-driving steering wheel nag :)

If you put both your hands on the lower half section of the wheel so they rest on your lap, but apply a small amount of weight to one side constantly, it will not do the reminder nags very often I find, from experience. The car will automatically and periodically sense for resistance when steering, if there is none, you get the text reminder and after a longer delay you get the blue visual alert reminder. This is of course cruising on the motorway and you're still complying by holding the wheel with both hands. It just seems to work well that way and is the most comfortable for longer drives.

Worth trying next time if you get a chance to use it :)
